Chapter 24 a Proven

The night was coming to a close and their feet shuffled to the auditorium doors. Overhead a large sign plastered across read, Event Postponed until Sunset, Day after Tomorrow. Even so, Firmin placed his hand on the doorknob and opened the doors. No lights were on, but even through the darkness Iggy could see the straight metal ridges of the large cage placed in dead center. The metal walls folded around the stage and inside there was a mattress with a sheet on top. It was dead silent until the three flowed past him inside.

The soles of his feet glued to the floor. The darkness was an ideal place for him to get out of this… but as soon as the thought went through his head, Firmin turned and looked back at him. “You’re not having second thoughts about this, are you?” he asked.
