Chapter 26 c Foe to Friend

Disconcerted and suspicious of weapons, Derson marched over to the closed door and pressed his ear to it. He could hear others awakening and walking through the halls, which was awful because he was the one responsible for switching the racks of clean glasses with the empty racks in the cafeteria. He gripped the sides of his head. “Ahhh!” he shrieked. “My other chores are piling up, too!” He hit his head against the door, and chanted under his breath, “wake up, wake up!”

“Derson?” Iggy sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes with his knuckles. “What are you doing?”

Derson threw his hands up in the air and hollered, “finally!” He rushed over to the bed. “We have work to do! Do you always sleep for so long?!”

“Ummm…” Iggy rubbed his eyes, harder. “I wouldn’t mind sleeping some mo-”
