The song was slightly jazzy and upbeat and Karen found that Bobby was a good dancer. They chatted a bit and Karen rolled her eyes each time one of her sisters winked at her or wriggled an eyebrow. When Danny took his place, Bobby took time to watch them.
Karen in particular.
The soft leather boots, dark blue, body hugging jeans and her top, the colour of dark red wine with threads of gold through it. She was friendly, sexy and so sweet.
Danny handed her over to Hugh to dance with Wendy while Greg and Jill watched. Soon after that the Fox clan departed. Karen waved her goodbyes from a distance.
“Gone so soon?” Bobby asked Danny when he re-joined the table of young men.
“Don’t worry,” he grinned, “Karen’s around for a bit.”
At some point during the night, Karen had wondered whether Jay would’ve danced at the Philly. Then she had realised what she had been doing and had banished the thought.
