21: Falling In Love
The afternoon Craig and Greg returned, Donna had an appointment with Dr. Morris. Greg’s chauffeur went to the terminal to pick up the duo and Donna went to the gynaecologist, where she got two thumbs up.
When she entered the lobby on her way out of the doctor’s office, she got a surprise.
“Greg! You’re back. Hi.”
Her reaction was the same as the first day he saw her in ‘N’ Ties.
He smiled. “Good to see you too, D. Are you done here?”
Donna nodded and let go of Greg. “Did you travel comfortably?”
“Yeah, great. The deal is as good as sealed and I am so glad to be home. It’s hot in LA.”
She asked him how he’d gotten to the doctor’s office.
“The driver dropped me off and then took Craig to the office, so I need a ride.”
“Oh, ok.”
Once in her car, the Jaguar she’d received as a wedding gift from the Marshalls, Greg asked, “How’d the doc say you were?”
“Perfectly healthy.”
“Good.”
Silence.
“Did you meet any hot Californians?” she asked casually.
