Angelina’s room

Angelina’s mother left the room and returned back with a picture in her hand‚ wondering why she still had the picture

“Is this the man you saw?” showing the picture to Angelina

It was a picture of her mother with a young man. He had the same eyes as the man in her dreams‚ but the man’s eyes were clouded with anger.

“Yes! It’s him” Angelina burst out

“Dear‚ Can I have a word with you outside please?” her father asked staring at Angelina’s mother.

Her mother nodded‚ and her parents left the room together.

As soon as her parents left the room‚ Mark requested for the picture and Angelina handed it over to him.

“Wow!” Looking at Angelina and the picture at the same time “You look a lot like him.” Mark said handling it back to Angelina. “But you don’t know who this man is right?”

“No‚ I don’t” she replied

Angelina descended her bed carefully not to stumble or fall. Her knees were numb. She had grown so weak‚ she couldn’t stand without supporting herself on the bed. Mark hurried off to her side and helped her back on her bed.

“I thought you got rid of those pictures?” Angelina’s father asked in an annoyed tone.

“I did. I don’t know how Angelina came across this one” her mother replied.

“It might have slipped off from the box the day you tried burning it.” He said “But why did you keep it when you found it” he asked.

“I don’t know‚ I just felt maybe one day we would have to tell Angelina the truth.”

He sighed. “But do you think he’s back or something” he asked worried.

“I don’t know” she replied “Remember he died 10 years ago‚ he can’t possibly be back” she added.

“Ok” was all he simply said

“What about Mark? He’s going to be late for school” She informed

“Yes‚ change of plans. He would have to join the bus” looking to his wrist watch “I can’t take him to school now‚ not when Angelina is like this” He added

“You’re right”

Angelina’s parents walked into the room‚ and her mother informed Mark about the change of plans.

Angelina watched Mark and her mother hurry out of the room‚ while her father phoned the school principal‚ informing him Angelina was sick.

After the phone call‚ Angelina’s father helped her out of her bloody uniform and into some fresh clothes.

“Can you walk?” he asked

“No…. not really” Angelina replied

Angelina’s mother walked in‚ and Angelina decided to use the opportunity to ask her parents who the man in the picture was.

“Mum‚ Dad… Who is the man in the picture?”

Angelina’s mother looked at her husband‚ and back at Angelina

“I think it’s time you knew the truth” she said.

“He’s your father”
