Chapter 1

Uriel creeped around the hallways and corridors of the palace. His feet met the lush carpets lightly, void of sound.

The lamps on the walls lit the passages dimly. His wings would everytime give off its golden glow when the beams of light shone on the feathers.

The night was lit by the two large crescent moons of the planet. The wind breezed gently through the trees and the sea was calm.

Uriel's heart beat rapidly, contrasting to the silence of the night.

He needed to be quiet or his father would hear him. He couldn't get caught. Not again.

This time his plan would work. This time he would make it to the teleportation chambers.

This time he'll see the universe. He believed.

His last obstacle was ahead. The castle porter. Jeez, he would be his hardest obstacle.

Uriel hid behind the corner of the wall and peeped to see the front doors of the castle.

There he was. Awake and alert like always. Uriel sighed. The porter was awake and Uriel was hoping for the opposite.

Guess I'll have to move plan B, Uriel thought.

He shut his eyes and brought both his index fingers to his temple. He concentrated his mind energy.

All he could do is hope his ability worked. The ability he'd been working on since he turned ten.

Sir Jamie. Sir Jamie. Sir Jamie. Sir Jamie! Uriel exclaimed in his head, focusing seriously on the figure by the doors.

Then it happened. A thud erupted!

Uriel's eyes snapped open. He gasped and peeped again. There on the floor, fast asleep and snoring, was Sir Jamie.

It worked! His psychic empathy powers worked. He made Sir Jamie go into a deep sleep.

Uriel sneaked past the sleeping figure. He opened the double doors. They creaked slightly as he did.

He waited. Hoping he's father hadn't woken up. His father's ultrasenses weakened during sleep.

The area was clear.

Uriel ran out of the palace, down the stone steps, onto the green pastures, through the rose maze and towards the village.

The wind flowed through his silky locks. He felt the fresh-cut grass underneath his bare feet. The heaviness of his large wings did not affect him one bit.

He giggled. His heart now beat from excitement not anxiousness.

He made it out and soon he'd be in the teleportation chambers. He still didn't think about how he would get in. Maybe he would use his abili–

THUD!

He crashed into something. No. Someone. Someone tall and strong like a brick wall.

Uriel fell to the ground with a grunt. His heart pace quickened in anxiousness this time.

He saw the mans feet. They hovered above the ground graciously.

Uriel's eyes rose. The man wore snow-white pyjammas like him. His wings were also golden in colour.

Then his eyes stopped by the man's eyes. A thunder-cloud-like grey. His brows were knotted together in an intimidating frown.

Uriel sighed and pouted, ". . .H-hey Michael. . ." he stuttered.

Michael glared at his younger brother. His arms crossed as he did so. His wings were in place, but he still hovered above the ground.

Again? This was the sixth time Uriel was caught. The boy was so persistent. His passion for the outside world will get him killed.

Michael sighed. He wasn't surprised by this. But he was worried, Uriel had actually gotten out of the castle gates.

He almost succeeded in this sneaking out thing.

Michael cared fondly for his brother.

Uriel was only ten. His wings were four times the size of his whole body. He couldn't fly yet! He was still working on controling his new abilities.

He was still so fragile.

And worse, he was the young prince of the Angelic Realm.

Demons would do anything to kill the princes of angels. Those evil creatures did anything to get their unjustified revenge.

Michael was well over age, he could protect himself. But Uriel, Uriel was only a kid.

An angel at his age is weaker than all the creatures alive.

And Michael knew his brother well. Uriel was curious and determined.

And that sometimes scared him.

All Uriel wanted was to see the universe. All Michael and the rest of the royal family, wanted him to be safe 'till he came of age.

Michael thought deeply about the situation. There was only one thing to do to end this madness.

"Are you gonna tell mother?" Uriel asked, pouting adorably and looking down. He interlaced his fingers together.

Michael sighed, "No. . .We're going to see Earth. And only Earth." Michael narrowed his eyes to confirm his words.

All Uriel heard was the first sentence. His heart leaped for joy and a bright grin spread across his face.

"No way! Really!? Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Uriel giggled and bombarded Michael with hugs.

Michael smiled, ruffling Uriel's dark hair. He then carried Uriel into his arms, bridal style.

He flapped his wings and gradually ascended into the sky, the sea of stars illuminated the feathers beautifully.

"Are you not going to use the teleportation chamber, brother?" Uriel asked, he held tight to Michael's shirt, hoping not to fall off.

"Oh, I'm sure you can get past Sir Mansley." Michael responded with a pinch of sarcasm, he rolled his eyes.

Uriel snickered. He didn't always think things through.

"I'm gonna teleport us there. It's one of my abilities remember?" Michael continued. Uriel responded by letting out an 'Ah'.

Michael looked calm and collected, but looks decieved. He had a notch for hiding his true emotions.

Inside, he had to keep telling himself that everything would be alright. He had never felt so anxious in his life.

He was the second most powerful angel in all the universe and yet the fear of failing to protect his brother weighed down on him like a black hole.

Going out there meant coming face to face with all the enemies. Other creatures weren't all that fond of angels.

The youngest prince of the angelic realm was out roaming the universe.

Gorgons, trolls, witches and others wouldn't waste time hunting them down.

But the worst of them all was most worrying to Michael.

Demons.
