Cuckoo crazy

Immediately Abby agreed to hang with him at his house, that tiny part of her that didn't want her to hang with him came out strong and started sounding warning bells in her head.

'How could you let yourself be persuaded so easily?...you agreed to go with him! And to his house! Are you crazy!?'

Not that Abby needed much persuasion anyway because that tiny part of her that was acting as the voice of reasoning in her head can't win against the larger part that wants to be with him. She wanted to explore this newfound feeling. She yearned to be kissed by him again.

He has been on her mind from the first time she set her eyes on him. She feels a dull sweet ache in her heart every time his face came to mind. Her heart has been throbbing for him since their brief meeting and still throbbing for him even after he suddenly ghosted on her.

'But what if it all spiraled out of control?' The voice of reasoning argued.

'He already promised not to force himself on me. I believe him and I can handle anything else' she disagreed with the voice in her head.

'You are playing with fire and you might get burnt in the process the voice said. Since you are prepared to damn all consequences...are you sure you can handle the aftermath?' The voice persisted.

'I honestly don't want to think about any aftermath right now, what I do know right this very moment is that I want to spend some time with him, just to get to know him better, either good or bad, I need to find out about this one. Why didn't I feel nauseated when he kissed me? Why do I still yearn for him even when he was being very annoying?'

Abby shoved the voice to the farthest part of her mind. She felt if she confronted the devil himself, she can finally conquer and be at peace with her disorganized heart. Maybe she could finally be able to calm the strange feelings he excited about her.

On their way to his house, her stomach grumbled loudly.

"Wow...what was that?" he laughingly asked with an arched brow.

"The monsters in my stomach are hungry..." She said to him without being embarrassed. "I guess I've not eaten since...yesterday afternoon I think." She said not sure about the exact time she ate last.

"Why!?" He wondered with a frown.

"I got carried away with work." she said and shrugged "I usually don't play with my stomach cos I like food a lot, just that the work was urgent and I didn't want to disappoint the client."

'So she likes food a lot? He wondered and chuckled since he had never met with a lady who likes food and outrightly admitted the fact. The ones he met are usually miss prim and proper who are always watching their weights and eat in tiny bits.

"So you are a glutton?" He asked and snickered.

"I'm not a glutton, I just like food okay. The difference is very clear." She retorted and rolled her eyes upward.

"Of course there's a difference, no need to lose your temper over that alright?" He placated her, changing the subject immediately.

"What kinda work do you do? Thought you said you were a model."

"I'm also a fashion designer."

"Okay." He replied half-heartedly, he's only interested in exploring the curves on her body, not the details that constitute her life.

"Let's go eat; I'm also hungry... Know any good place to eat around here?"

"No! We can't go anywhere around here" she replied quickly, who knows where the members of her family might suddenly pop out from.

"Ohh yeahh! Forgot you can't be seen with me" he said scornfully when he noticed her clipped reply, remembering what she had said earlier.

"Whatever" Abby rolled her eyes upward at him "Don't you have food at home?"

" No!" He snapped.

"Not even cereals...?" She asked expectantly again, ignoring his petty attitude.

"Oh yes, I have cereals! I guess you can't classify cereal under food right!?" He replied, in a mocking manner.

"Don't be sarcastic, please! It's not my fault that you are not a normal human being!... I mean who wouldn't have food...even something as small as a box of cereal at home!?" Abby remarked with an exaggerated surprised look on her face.

"Do you at least have a kitchen!?" She asked, mocking him in return.

"No!.. I had it removed! What do I need a kitchen for when I don't have food?... I'm not a normal human being, remember?" He looked back at her, also wearing an exaggerated serious expression on his face too.

Abby glared at him like he's crazy and thought about how difficult it's going to be to win him in a glib war.

"Cuckoo," She said loud enough for him to hear.

"What did you call me!?" He asked eyes widen at her. Not that he didn't hear her the first time, he just wanted her to repeat what she said, thinking she won't have the guts to repeat herself.

"You heard me the first time. I said Cuckoo!...you know, like when you have some few screws loose up there. Have you always been this cuckoo crazy Paul?" She pointed at her temple, rolling her finger at the same time.
