Chapter 51: Time For Action

Booth stood in the firehouse, between the trucks, knowing that this was his Waterloo.

There would be no escaping. No tropical island. No hot nurses in bikinis. No, pay off from the government because or anyone else.

They’d all decided that Mallory Sage was harmless.

But he knew she wasn’t. He knew what she could do.

Like most women, she could wield a stiletto around his heart and have it out on the floor before he knew it.

His hands shook.

The knife was in his boot.

He had a gun, too, because he hadn’t decided how he would do it.

The medicine the doctor gave him hadn’t stilled the tremors or lessened this attack. The shaking wouldn’t get better.

He shook off his thoughts and put on his game face.

He had someone to kill.

One last hit and he may as well enjoy it.
