Selia and Tenno reached the edge of the Lerian Forest the morning after meeting Sparks.
The Lerian was a relatively quiet forest. It was a lush, deciduous woodland, mostly free of carnivorous beasts. Staring up at the towering trees, Selia felt oddly at peace. Something about undisturbed wilderness had a calming effect on her. Even the usually tense Tenno seemed more relaxed than usual.
"Shall we enter?" Selia asked.
"Let's," Tenno agreed. "I hope his friends aren't too hard to find."
Selia nodded. Together, they walked into the forest, leaving the sunlit grasslands behind.
It was eerily quiet under the Lerian's thick canopy. A few birds were twittering up in the branches, but the forest floor was quite silent. Even the companion's footfalls on the peaty soil made little sound. The pattern of branches overhead cast dappled light down onto the ground, giving the forest the appearance of a naturally occurring mosaic. It was almost otherworldly.
