“I don’t really care if the news is mean to me either,” I say, having built-up my self-confidence since Marcial and General Randall stood up for me. “They don’t know the reason why I’ve been kept away by my father the President from the public.”

Madam Andrea speaks, “Oh dear, the men may have raised some points but you must also care about the general public’s opinion because after all, you are the President’s daughter and soon-to-be the General’s wife.”

“What do you propose that we can do about the public’s opinion, Madam?” My father asked.

“Well I suppose that an announcement of a pregnancy must suffice to court public opinion after just week after the wedding. Everybody loves a pregnant woman, is it?” Madam Andrea spoke of so much zeal that she almost spilled her coffee.
