Chapter 40: Veterans' Luncheon
This time, my head was filled with topaz and moonstones to complement my pastel dress. My head feels so heavy, and I was getting anxious of losing one stone again. I still don’t get the Capital women’s obsession with these stones on their heads.
The General also asked me to carry a small box made up from a narra tree, which housed a golden pendant carved into Ransang’s insignia on it. I placed the box on my lap.
Everything seemed to be heavy from my head to my lap.
I sat beside the General inside another of his BMW as we head to the luncheon at the Phoenix Pavilion.
“I heard the Duke arrived in Ransang this morning aboard a private jet,” the General said.
“That’s cool,” I replied, looking at the busy streets through the transparent widows as we drive through. I could see that there were multiple flags of Ransang and the United Kingdom hanging from every corner.
“Is there anything bothering you, Natalia?” he asked.
