Giselle's POV
I looked at myself in the mirror. My brunette hair hanging down my shoulders reaching my belly button in natural waves, water dripping from them soaking my shirt. My hazel eyes shining due to the light seeping through the window glass.
My figure as my sister described 'Now that's what I call sexy' made me laugh.
I stood there looking at my appearance, my slightly tan skin glowing. Wearing my favorite black bikini set and a white boyfriend shirt hanging down my shoulders.
I quickly changed into my black lace dress, having full sleeves, it reached lower than my mid-thighs. Doing my regular makeup, using a concealer under my eyes, a mascara to enhance my already thick lashes, I used slight blush as I didn't need much I had a heart-shaped face to contribute for those cheekbones.
Applying my regular lip gloss, because using dark shades wasn't my thing.
I gave myself one last look, grabbed my things and the car keys from the bed rushed out of the house.
As I entered the college it was littered with people here and there talking to each other. Suddenly, someone grabbed me by my shoulder and swung me around. I gasped at the suddenness and smiled like a goofy seeing my sister, feeling overwhelmed I engulfed her in a bear hug. This was my big day.
"It's been so long. I was thinking about you only, whether you'll reach on time or not." I said adjusting my head on her shoulder.
"Of course! We had to be on time Cupcake. It's your day. We wouldn't miss it for anything."
"Thank you," I loosened my grip on her and let her out of my tight embrace. "What about the luggage?"
"Ohh! Don't you worry about that. Dad's already on the way coming back here. He just went home to drop the luggage, in the cab."
"Alright then, let's go."
.......
.......
I was nervously standing there for my name to be announced holding Tracy's hand. "Now that's one hell of a thing. Isn't it Elly, look at you?"
Grinning widely she said to me. "You, I mean seriously you are nervous! Why?" She whispered in my ear.
"I don't know. Maybe because I waited for this day for a long time. Now stop talking we'll continue this later it's my turn."
Just as I said this as if on cue they called my name, with a smile on my face I walked to the stage greeted the chief guest and took my certificate. While I was getting my photograph done I looked at the audience and spotted my dad and Rae. Which changed my smile into a genuine one.
After I got down of the stage I went, straight to Dad to give him a quick welcome. Just as I reached near him he gave me his tradition bear hug.
Being there in his arms I felt protected, I was happy that he was here with me. This was all I wanted. I wanted them to be with me. I needed someone to be there for me when I needed them. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here.
He looked at me as said with a proud smile and a look of adoration on his face. "I'm proud of you." He meant it and at that very moment I felt 'It was all worth it.
"Thanks, Dad, now I should get going for the photographs." With that, he kissed my forehead and waved me while I was going.
At the end of the ceremony, we all went for our group-fies, and the cliche cap throwing tradition. We said our goodbyes and best wishes to each other and headed to our own destinations.
Tracy met dad and Rae since she knew them for a long time so I didn't need to introduce them to each other.
She was my high school friend and since then we stayed the same except for some misunderstandings and arguments here and there but all in all it was awesome.
Now we were sitting in the car deciding where to go as Rae was all excited to celebrate but I was thinking about dad that he would be tired.
"No, no, no, no, that isn't happening we're not going home now!" Rae whined. Sometimes she behaved like I was her elder sister. Although she was mine. But whatever.
"Listen I'm not saying that we won't go. All I'm saying is that let's just dad rest for a while we can celebrate in the evening or at the weekend or maybe sometime later. I'm also tired."
"I'm the one who should be tired. I traveled all the way from New York"
"Will you'll stop arguing like kittens. I'll make to decision here."
We both looked at Dad intently waiting for his decision.
"Okay, we'll celebrate."
"Yayyy!" Rae screamed in my ears causing me to glare at her.
"I haven't finished. We'll celebrate but in the evening. And at home."
To this, our dear miss Rae pouted like a kid and I smirked and with that, it was decided.
When we reached home. We opened a bottle of champagne and did our little celebration. We ordered something from a famous Chinese restaurant downtown. I had made some deserts for my midnight cravings which were swallowed by me and Rae.
After having our full. We all headed to our respective rooms.
I changed into my usual booty shorts and a loose t-shirt.
As soon as my body made contact with my soft and comfortable bed I was out as light.
"Swetty what are you doing?"
"Nothing Mama just looking out of the window." I had this bad habit of waking up in the middle of the night when I was anxious about something.
"What are you looking at?"
"The moon. It's so beautiful."
"Yes, it surely is my dear."
"Have you ever noticed how it lights up the whole sky when it's full. And it looks so beautiful when it peeks through the clouds. As though trying to catch a glimpse of you on a chilly November night."
"Just like you. Huh always trying to catch a glimpse of everything you adore."
"Hahaha, you're right." I laughed remembering my childhood memories.
"Mama" I whispered. I thought she wouldn't be able to hear me. But she did.
"Yes." She looked at me adoringly.
"I don't know if I'll be able to make it through the finals."
"Ohh don't worry. Even if you won't I'll still love you... Maybe I won't?" She said joking.
Which made me crack a smile.
"But you're a strong girl. Just like this moon. Trying till it catches, even a glimpse of something it adores."
Her words gave me courage.
"I know you. You are my daughter. You are stubborn. And if you aim to do something. You'll do it."
I smiled at her with tears in my eyes.
"But remember you do not have to lose yourself while doing it."
I gasped heavily and sat straight up.
"Mom" I breathed out.
I haven't dreamed about her for a long time.
I picked up the water bottle from the bedside table and drank half of it.
I should sleep. Maybe this time I won't have any dream.
I laid down straight on the bed. After a while of staring at the ceiling, I finally drifted off to sleep.
