Chapter 7: A Wave of Rush

Giselle's POV:

"I-, I'm Giselle."

"Giselle what?"

This floor belonged to Mr. Archer so assuming it was him, I said, "Harper, Giselle Harper Mr. D'Romano."

I took a step forward from behind the shelf and glanced at him. At once, I looked up again to realize. It was him.

I froze seeing him. The man from the lift. He was my boss. And I, I was taking advantage of him. What would he think about me?

I felt his gaze waver down my body. Then to my face.

It made me conscious. He looked at me with a forlorn expression as if he was thinking something. Or remembering.

"I should go." My words brought him out of his trance.

"Princess where are you going?"

I cleared my dry throat. "To my floor."

"Why did you come here? Amore."

"I had to collect some documents."

He didn't react at all. His sturdy frame was approaching.

It made me unnerve. I tried to back away from him only to hit the wall behind me. My head hit the switch and the lights went out.

I was about to scream when a calloused hand covered my mouth. I only light coming from the window allowed me to look at him closely.

He leaned in and placed his head in the crook of my neck.

"Shhh, we don't have to draw in people's attention. So no making noises. Now tell me did it hurt?" He said in his thick accent as if I was a baby he was explaining to.

I nodded my heading allowing him to move his hand away from my face.

He caressed my cheek with his thumb. I squirmed under his touch, all sorts of dirty thoughts coming to my mind, due to his closeness.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

"Huh, " his words brought me out of my daze. He chuckled hearing my reaction.

I resisted the urge to shiver but when he caressed my thigh I couldn't control it.

"Così reattivo. Vorrei esplorare di più su di te."

(So reactive. I wish to explore more of you.)

"I need to go." I shuttered feeling him so close to me.

"Where?" He questioned frowning.

For I second I thought he was serious. When I opened my mouth to speak. The frown was replaced by a knowing smirk.

His hand softy moved towards my inner thigh. Making small circles with his thumb. He looked at me with those captivating eyes. I shifted under his intense gaze.

"Bambina, " he whispered.

I intently looked at him. To hear what he wanted to say next.

But my phone rang disrupting our moment. I was so caught up by his eyes, it didn't realize what was happening.

"I- I need to go."

I tried to run away from him. But his hand grabbed me by my elbow and halted my steps.

"Don't think this is over Bambina. I'll continue from where I left."

Saying this he walked out on me again.

Ahhh again I should have walked out on him this time. This isn't fair. I whined.

I found the documents. When the phone rang again.

"Yes, Jake."

"Where are you? I saw Jason following you."

"Huh, no he didn't come here," I said walking out if the archive.

"Okay then, come soon."

"On my way."

I gave Jason the papers and hurried out of his office as soon as possible. This man gave me creeps.

I returned to my desk and sat.

"Jake." He turned to look at me smiling.

"Yep."

"I saw the boss."

I told him about everything. The lift incident and what happened in the archive.

"Cupcake, I think he's interested in you."

With a serious expression, he continued, "Although,... I was going to keep him for myself, you can take him." And he burst out laughing.

"Jake you scared me." I hit his shoulder.

Letting out did feel good. I was a relief.

I didn't know what would happen between us but I didn't want to give much thought about it. Although I was dying to know what would take place if he did continue.

....

I didn't see him today, Jake told me he had a meeting so he wouldn't show up, which was kind of good and kind of a disappointment.

We did our usual stuff. The blueprint is in progress. Today, we are going to a club. And I'm really excited about it. I hope this will help me get my head out of certain things.

"Okay Cupcake see you tonight."

"Bye Jakey." I kissed his cheek.

"You remember my address right?"

"Yeah, I obviously do. I'm not dumb." He said exasperatedly.

"Okay, okay Mr. Smarty pants." I laughed at his outrageous behavior.

....

The drive to the club was itself a blast. We all happened to like the same band and we're singing songs like mad people.

"Guys I guess we should slow down a bit. This is the main gate. They'll think we are crazy. And won't let us pass." I laugh to which all of them join me.

"I'll park the car you wait for me at the entrance."

They nodded their heads in agreement and compiled at the corner of the entrance.

I parked the car and started walking towards the entrance. I was startled by a sudden voice from behind me.

"Hey, white dress."

"What do you want?" I asked angrily.

"Feisty huh, I like it."

I was thoroughly irritated. Firstly, because of Jason and his everyday shit. Secondly, Mr. Stanger walking out on me every time we met. Thirdly, I was finally happy and this prick showed up.

"Listen, you better get lost or I'll call the security."

"Oh really."

"Yeah now fuck off."

He took a step toward me. This time I didn't back away. I took one forward. It took him by surprise, I grabbed him by his collar and yanked him on the bonnet of a car.

"I. Said. Leave." I growled.

He was looking behind me but I didn't look back. What if it was trick to attack me? I had seen enough of those movies to known that.

When he left I finally turned around at looked to find one but rows and rows of cars.

There was no one.

This must be a famous club. There was a long line starting from the entrance. Jenny said as she had visited this place with one of her friends so we just went with the flow.

....

"I three martinis a strawberry and two simple ones and one vodka with coke," Jake order the bartender while we all sat on the stools. He was flirting with the bartender.

He didn't even spare the bouncer. I can't forget what he said to him while we were passing the security.

"Can I enter you?" With the signature smug plastered.

He seriously is one of his kind.

I was sipping my martini. When Jenny exclaimed.

"Three tequila shots each, and then we hit the dance floor."

"Yo baby." I grinned and we all squealed. Now I realize why we get along so well, we're all same. Crazy same.

I don't drink and by that I mean I really do not.

Jake has to drive back so no drinking for him. After his vodka, he only gets to drink cocktails.

When I took my first shot it burned down my throat. And I coughed. We again downed to the second and third shots.

At the count of three. I did feel a little bit dizzy but I would to fine with dancing.

"Let's goooooo." I slurred.

"I want to dance." I grabbed their hands and took them to the dance floor with Jake hot on our tails.

"Nothing can stop us."

Indeed, nothing did. I was dancing, we all swayed our hips to the music showing our curves and Jake was no less. He definitely knew how to move it.

"Guys, I need to pee," I shouted over the music to which they all leaned forward to hear.

"I'll come with you," Jake suggested.

"I don't think you'll make it there on your own."

"Oh come on I'm perfectly fine." I retorted.

"Fine go I'm still looking."

"Fine."

....

I finished my business and was washing my hands. I noticed my appearance in the mirror. My red matte lipstick still intact, my brown curls flowing in waves. The dress really complimented my figure.

The thud from outside the bathroom bought my attention. I opened the door the see a girl clinging on a man like her life depended on it who in turn wasn't even trying to hold her.

"Please Archer." Her plea was unheard of as he tried to remove her hands from his shoulders.

"Leave." He snarled. "Or it won't be good for you."

At his words, she untangled herself off him. When she left, he muttered something and veered around. I gasped seeing him. He, -he was him.

"Ya- you, what are you doing here?"

"That I should be asking you?" He countered with a smug.

"Are, ... You stalking me?

This drunkenness wasn't helping me.

I was shuttering I don't shutter even if I'm afraid. Or was it something else.

Ahh, why does all this seem to be so confounding?

He was looking so devilish under these dim lights carrying his smirk, with a dark look in his eyes. His 5 o'clock shadow beard adorning his face and his sharp jawline.

He had a straight upturned nose, just like his attitude. All in all, he looked like a Greek God. The crisp white shirt he wore with folded sleeves. Wasn't helping much to hide his muscles.

I yearned to feel them under my fingers.

"I remember telling you that we had unfinished business." He began.

"Yes, you did. But I have a question?"

I asked confidently. I don't know where this confidence was coming from. Although when i needed it the most it just used to vanish. Like that one friend to just leaves you when you're in need indeed.

"Ask." He mumbled.

"Why do I find you everywhere?"

"I don't know gattino." He spoke calmly but I could see something else in those stormy brown eyes.

I walked to him. He just looked at me.

I placed my hands on his cheeks. To feel his stubble which was taunting me.

I reached up to his ear. And mumbled in a low voice, "Archer."

I wanted to ask him who he was? I had seen him somewhere before.

His jaw clenched in my palms and his posture became stiff. I moved my hands to his hair. I was about to speak again.

Before that, his face came crashing down to claim my lips.
