Giselle's POV
He left. He just went, leaving me here. In a mass of people, I didn't even recognize.
I have seen him before. I can't remember.
He walked away shortly after the lift was opened by the security guards. I didn't get enough time to make out who he was.
Mr. Stranger just disappeared into thin air.
....
....
"Very well Miss Haper. You got some good grades to back you and then your professor's recommendation it's a cherry on the cake. I'm very impressed." I smiled at his acknowledgment.
"Thank you, Mr. Andrews. It's my pleasure that I'll be working under your guidance."
"Call me Jason. Please be seated with the rest of your colleagues. I'll join you'll in five minutes."
"Okay, Jason." I hesitantly said.
There were four of us one boy and three girls. I sat there on the furthest corner to avoid and any conversation.
After the lift incident, I don't think I'll be able to communicate with anyone. Who knows when the other person will show me his back and walk out.
....
Mr. Jason Andrews will be my manager. He is in his early thirties, by his looks.
Having blue eyes and an average of body structure and facial features. He isn't bulgy but isn't toned either. He's good but I don't really get a good feeling from him.
Yeah, let's leave it to me and my feelings to decide. Maybe he's a good man and I'm overthinking.
I will be working with him for the next six months, after that, they'll see my work and if they like it. I'll be appointed to work for their firm.
After Mr. D'Romano's retirement his son is the new boss. Are designs, will be sent to him for approval.
According to Mr. Andrews, he's quite strict and doesn't tolerate negligence.
He has been explaining all of this to us for the last thirty minutes. Later, each one of us will be assigned our desks and a file. We will have to make a blue print-ready of the given project. And submit it next week.
....
....
"Hey, I'm Jake." A lean tall man swiveled towards me with his cheerful black beady eyes and beamed.
"Hi, I'm Giselle. You can call me Elly." I flashed a smile at him.
"I surely will babe."
This made my nose scrunch a little.
No that was too cherry.
"Don't bother I'll cause you no harm. I'm not straight enough to like you but if I would be I would have been looking at you in that way. Eye raping you."
He pointed towards Jason standing between that doorway of his office leaning on its frame with folded arms and crossed legs.
The way he was staring at me creeped me out. I never noticed the way he looked at me. I immediately averted my eyes and gazed down at the ground.
"By the reaction you've given. I don't think you really liked that idea."
"Ahm, no."
"Don't worry I'll be with you. I don't think he'll do anything. At least not in-office hours." I widened my eyes to his statement.
"What do you mean?"
"You haven't worked with such people before have you?"
"No. He spoke respectfully to me before."
"Well, Cupcake people aren't as good as they look. I have been working here for a while now."
"Cupcake. This is what my sister calls me." I giggled.
"Shhhh, softly we don't what them to have a bad impression of you on the first day." He laughed.
....
....
The rest of the day passed with me and Jake joking around and obviously working. He told me about Archer D'Romano and his good looks.
The name seemed quite familiar. But I couldn't exactly put it.
He elucidated me about the building and which floor is used for what, the first five are used for either conferences security and storage.
The remnant is used for the accounts department, the interns, and employees, not forgetting the Boss's Office which is on the 12th floor with a few more rooms there.
We discussed a lot of things. He told me how things worked here and how we actually have to do them.
Even I didn't understand that part. But he said I'll eventually get it.
At some point, I thought I should ask Jake about the man from the lift, but I didn't feel right.
I somewhat felt embarrassed about what I did. I shouldn't have been so close to him. Talking to him would have been fine but touching him really wasn't.
Rae and dad would leave for New York on Sunday. So the three of us have planned on hitting a club this Friday.
The three including Jenny, Rae and I. Jenny is our cousin and since Rae has also come we meet quite often nowadays.
I came home and told Raelyn about all that happened. Except for the lift thingy.
She has started packing some of her stuff now. Dad's in the living room watching tv.
He has tried controlling his drinking habits, since a while now. Having tiny tiney shots at night.
And that makes me happy. He is trying. For us.
As I sit on her bed relishing my hot chocolate. Whistle Rae is busy packing and scowling at me every now and then.
"No one can judge me and my sweet tooth. I can't deny its needs. We have faced both good and bad days together.
Just because I had eaten two cupcakes, I can't forbid it from feeling his ecstasy. He deserved it."
"Yeah right. You and your logics."
"Don't give me that. You make me feel stupid at times." We both laughed at my confession.
"I will be heading to my room now. I'm feeling really sleepy."
"Good night Cupcake," she said peeping her head from behind the door of her cupboard.
"Good night." I lazily said and steadily walked up the stairs.
"Good night Dad," I shouted from the stairs.
"Good night Elly. Sweet dreams baby."
Hearing him I walked a couple of steps more and reached my room.
I packed my articles regarding the project and took out my clothes for tomorrow.
After having a relaxing shower I dozed off.
....
....
"Princess where are you going?"
I cleared my dry throat. "To my floor."
"Why did you come here? Amore."
"I had to collect some documents."
He didn't react at all. His sturdy frame was approaching. It made me unnerve.
I tried to back away from him only to hit the wall behind me. My head hit the switch and the lights went out.
I was about to scream when a calloused hand covered my mouth. I only light coming from the window allowed me to look at him closely.
He leaned in and placed his head in the crook of my neck.
"Shhh, we don't have to draw in people's attention. So no making noises. Now tell me did it hurt?" He said in his thick accent as if I was a baby he was explaining to.
I nodded my heading allowing him to move his hand away from my face.
He caressed my cheek with his thumb. I squirmed under his touch.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."
"Huh, " his words brought me out of my daze. He chuckled hearing my reaction.
I resisted the urge to shiver but when he caressed my thigh I couldn't control it.
"Così reattivo. Desidero esplorare di più di te." (So reactive. I wish to explore more of you.)
"I need to go." I shuttered feeling him so close to me.
"Where?" He questioned frowning.
For I second I thought he was serious. When I opened my mouth to speak. The frown was replaced by a knowing smirk.
His hand softy moved towards my inner thigh. Making small circles with his thumb. He looked at me with those captivating eyes. I shifted under his intense gaze.
"Bambina, " he whispered.
Ohh, wait you don't know how I happened to be caught up in this situation, do you?
I'll tell you, the day was going smoothly. Jake brought me my favorite coffee with a caramel shot.
It's been two days working here. I got to know more about Jake. Today I asked him if he wanted to join us tomorrow to which Jake agreed. He said he would love to meet Rae and Jenny. I was looking forward to introducing them. They would love him and his cocky attitude. Well, it ran in our family.
We were working, I had completed the initial structures of the building. Until Jason landed on my desk.
"Hey, Giselle," Jason said from behind my chair, hovering over me. His actions disgusted me. He made ne feel uncomfortable.
"Ahem hello."
"I need you to go to the archive and grab some documents. It's on the 12th floor. Ask the receptionist for the way." I nodded.
"So it's settled. Bring me the documents and give them to me in my office."
....
....
I was looking at was the documents. When I heard a patter of footsteps on the wooden floor of the archive.
"Who's there?"
I glanced around but one came to my sight.
"Hello, anyone's there?" My voice wavered.
This room was in a secluded area I doubt anyone came here.
I took steps in the direction of the sound.
There was a back door, on the far end of the room. I was walking to it.
When his voice halted me from stepping any further.
"Who are you?" He said in a gruff tone not sounding pleased.
"I-, I'm Giselle."
