Chapter 188: Marls I

"The old man!!!" Prince exclaimed as he recognized the familiar face.

"Hello, old friend," the man said, his voice steady. "I'm no longer that beggar on the side of the road. Through circumstance, I made it out. And now, the people of these streets know that."

Prince's heart pounded as more civilians began gathering around him, forming a protective ring between him and the hostile mob.

"You would stand with this sinner, against God and against the king?!" the angry mob roared.

"It was the king's order that this man stand trial! So let him fight his trial, and we will see just whose side God is on!" the old man shouted back, his voice ringing out with authority as he directed his growing group of followers.

"We are not merely the knights or nobles following the Dark Prince," the old man continued, raising his voice. "If we are to die today, we will all stand trial with him!" He raised his fist defiantly.
