Chapter 213: The Mounteclair Ball XIV

"What a beautiful sight," Alicia said, gazing out from the side of the castle balcony. From where they stood, they could see a sprawling valley blanketed by a stardew of shimmering constellations painting the night sky.

Further in the distance, faint flickers of small fires and sporadic glimpses of city lights marked the edges of the city limits. It was as if the entirety of France lay before them, serene and within their possession.

"Philip Montclair has quite the estate," Prince remarked, holding Alicia's hand firmly in his.

"That he does," Alicia replied, her voice laced with admiration. "I would say, it's one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen."

"Is it even more beautiful than the sights you saw in Japan?" Alicia asked, her tone soft, but her question cutting deeper than it seemed.
