"What did I miss?" I whispered. The old lady gently run a thumb on my cheeks wiping the tears away. Then she locked eyes with me.
"I know how you feel" she said soothingly.
"I had a daughter once who had everything going for her," she paused and gave me a sad look "she was beautiful, smart and flamboyant"
"I didn't understand what happened when one day she had decided to..." Mrs. Umbre trailed off.
I watch her expression turn chagrined while I tried to sniff back tears.
"Her death broke the foundations my husband had worked so hard for," the old lady stared at me "and I asked myself, what have I not seen?"
It was my turn to wipe a tear that had fallen down her face.
"I didn't find the answers for that question and in turn I had been miserable until I finally did"
The old lady took a piece of paper hidden under her pillow and handed it to me.
She ushered me to open it.
