Chapter 68

"Welcome home, Mr. Desmond." Lila, one of my maids, greeted me with a courteous smile as I sauntered in.

"I hope you had a splendid day?"

"No." I answered sharply before heading for the stairs leading to my room. As I shut the door behind me, the lights came on. My eyes immediately darted to the bed. One I once shared with Emmy. My teeth gnashed against each other as I recalled today's incident. I removed my clothes in anger and frustration intertwined before heading to the bathroom. Without thinking, I turned the shower on, causing cold water to storm against my body. I didn't care about the chills it was giving, I simply replayed my day's ordeals again.

Perhaps I flared up due to my hatred for her. Perhaps, I couldn't stand the sight of the way she hung by her new man. We were divorced of course, but in a way it still bothered me. Regardless, I shouldn't have caused such a huge scene. Now another nonsensical headline about me was going to be written.
