The sound of items hitting each other, tents packing and folding of other things could be heard. Some guys with blue badges were overseeing the packing up while a large portal was being set up in a large space with several machines being set up. The entire settlement was full of noise from searching frequency noises to loud speaking. More accurately, this was an army camp/base in the outside world - scouts squad 2CII. They were in the process of evacuation back to Sector G16.
"How's the process going?" an overseer asked his fellow comrades.
He was wearing large night vision googles as it was dark out in the Outside world.
"All good sire" his fellow comrade in front of him replied standing upright.
A scout came running in as quick as lightning.
"What is it?" the main overseer asked the running man.
Standing upright he gave his report.
"Sire, I rushed here as quick as I possibly could. Message just reached me from the scouts at base 16 of the human settlement that the invading group are already arriving. They are about fourty miles away from the settlement and are moving quickly. It seems like they are flying rather walking. Sir, the other scouts are on their way and we have have not more than twenty minutes to get back to Sector G16."
Everyone who heard that brief report were scared out of their wits to the point that sweat began trickle from their necks down to their anus.
The overseeing commander looked at his wrist watch and gave an order with a shaky voice.
"You all have 5 minutes to finish what ever it is that you are doing. Once the returning scouts arrive, we'll go through that portal back to Sector G16. So it will be in your best interest to quickly finish what you are doing or drop it."
Then turning to address the attendants at the portal, he spoke;
"Be fast with what you are doing. Make sure the portal leads to square 1."
"No excuses." he concluded.
"We would have been out of here sooner hadn't the Commander given us a task to undertake before we left. It's all futile. The Academy can't become what it once was neither can we win this war." the overseeing commander said to himself.
Some minutes later, the returnees arrived and the entire 100 men scouts squad 2CII were transported back to Sector G16.
At Base 16 of the Human Settlement
Gordon was walking about while trying to calm down the panicking people.
"Gordon, the children have been gathered and are ready to start moving." a tall female spoke.
Gordon walked over to where the children were and squatted. Tears began to fall from his eyes as he kissed a little boy on the forehead. The boy was Alvin, the last surviving son of Gordon except for Davis.
"I love you son. I love you so much".
Addressing the head of a group designed to take the children to safety, he spoke.
"Take them away now."
When they had gone a considerable distance, he raised up his voice and spoke.
"Men and women, today maybe or should I rather say will be the day of the greatest fight of your life. To be honest, it will either be victory or defeat, but it all depends on what you do today. Know this, you're fighting for the life of your families, your children and everyone close to you who is here or who isn't. Now isn't the time to hold back. We all made the choice to stay here and we will take the burden to defend it. I will make sure, and trust me when I say that no one will get hurt and even if anyone does go down while fighting, I will make sure that that person's death will not be in vain. We cannot run from this fight because we will be followed as we are already targeted. Even if we aren't followed, at another point in our lives, we will still have to fight again. So why not fight now. Together we can do this."
'TOGETHER! TOGETHER!' the whole settlement shouted.
Gordon turned his eyes to look out into the open, outside of the settlement. The invading group were now arriving sooner. Gordon's eyes began to glow blue, the blue energy began to course through his entire body.
"I guess I'll have to remain at this level for now. I don't know what I will face or who out there will out do me. I'll have to reserve my energy till I really need it."
Looking back at his fellow comrades and the remaining humans preparing, he thought to himself.
"I swear I won't let any of you die...." he suddenly halted wondering if it was possible to keep everyone alive.
"I'll try to keep everyone alive, I'll try to keep everyone alive. I'll try."
The Invaders were arriving quickly until suddenly they disappeared.
"Huh"
"We're doomed"
The Invaders reappeared in the centre of the settlement.
"Holy heavens" Gordon exclaimed.
The group now became very clear. There were 18 Drakes and 12 Thorians. Drakes refers to beasts that were under control. However, these Drakes were above the grand tier. The grand tier covered beasts such as trycartoseroses, dicelitic monsters (high intelligence, speed and had the shape and quality of humans but were stronger with variety of abilities), etc. Beasts such as dragons, humanoid monsters were in a lower class than these grand tier beasts. Most present here among the 18 grand tier beasts were Daemons. They were characterized by having complete human features, sharp claw like fingers, their body emitted poison and could transform any part of their body to any weapon. They also had high resistance.
Among the group were Thorians. Thorians were specials or strong quality humans influenced by the driving force of Un-thor making them 100x stronger than who they were before. Thorians could be recognized by a sign on their foreheads more like an A. The second second stroke of the A was longer than the first and the line crossing the 'A' was not visible. They emitted dark energy as in the color of brown. This also included the colour of their eyes.
The attack began immediately. In not more than 10 seconds, everyone in the settlement were engaged. The winning side was very clear as the Invaders were dominating the humans. The Thorians weren't even using ten percent of their power.
Gordon rushed in from the side to deflect an attack from a Daemon to a fighting human. The Daemon infuriated turned it's attention towards Gordon. A glint of red flashed several times in its eyes. The Daemon twisted it's hand turning it into a sharp blades and swung it towards Gordon. Gordon twisted to the side to avoid the attack. However, the attack was only an illusion. The real attack came from Gordon's side piercing him in the abdomen before he could even react.
"Arrgh"
He flipped over to the other side to escape consequent attacks. As suddenly as the attack came, the wound began to heal until it finally closed up.
"You'll have to do more than that to kill me" Gordon said smiling. Throwing out his arm, a blue aura chain stretched from his hand seizing the neck of a Daemon attacking a human. Clenching his fist, the chain caught fire from his hands moving to the end. The fire reached the end of the chain burning the head of the Daemon to crisp. Turning to face the one in front of him, he jerked his arm back. Black chains emerged from the floor seizing the arms, legs and neck of the Daemon. He clenched his fist again which caused the chains to retract with immense force tearing the Daemon to shreds.
The Thorians suddenly joined the battle which meant trouble for the humans. A tall Thorian with an axe landed on the ground next to Gordon creating a deep crater in the ground. The Thorian immediately went in for an attack swinging the axe skillfully aiming for Gordon's head. Crossing his fingers, Gordon created a large symbol of a crossed axe in front of him which solidified slightly and parried the axe attack from the Thorian. The effect sent him backwards a little bit. Stabilizing himself, he solidified the crossed axe completely making it hover in the air. A serious battle ensued between Gordon and the Thorian. However, Gordon was being subdued because he was distracted trying to protect his fellow humans.
"They'll all die so just focus on this fight. It's been long since I had a good fight." The Thorian spoke.
Gordon looked around and noticed that only about a quarter of the humans were still alive and about one fifth of the Invaders had perished.
"This isn't going the way I thought it would" Gordon thought.
He decided to focus on the fight now as not one Thorian had died. His blue aura began glowing brighter. Stretching forth his hand, he created ten small sized tornado which threw out sharp spikes encircling the Thorian and himself. The tornado crushed them together but he had disappeared out of the way before he could be hurt. After the resulting effect had died down, the Thorian was still alive unhurt.
Davis took a look around and realized that the settlement was full of dead bodies. Only six people remained including himself surrounded by 12 Thorians and 15 Drakes.
"What the hell happened...?"
