"Class pres, do the headcounts and make sure the class is complete before going to the auditorium," Kevin nodded when he was advised by their professor. They have a scheduled batch meeting with the school director so classes were cut off temporarily.
"Twenty-three, twenty-four…," Kevin uttered as he counted himself. [Who's missing?] He went inside the room to look around. [Ahh, shit. It's Dome.]
"How the hell am I supposed to find that bastard?" Kevin cursed as he unlocked his phone. He checked the class list to find Dome's contact details. [Thank goodness, he input his number here.]
Kevin immediately dialed Dome's number. [It's ringing but he's not answering.] "Where are you, Dome?" Kevin mumbled as he held his forehead.
He let his classmates go to the auditorium on their own as he continued on searching for Dome.
"Fuck. What a pain in the ass,"
A few minutes later, he saw someone walking in the hallway, the person is obviously not on track and he keeps on losing his balance. [I'm sure this is Dome.]
Kevin stomped his way towards him. "What the hell is your problem, Dome? You keep on being an insensitive bastard who doesn't care about anything!"
Dome looked at him, with bloodshot eyes and wasted face. [Oh, goddamn it. Is he drunk?! Seriously? On a school day?!]
"Don't you have any other things to do except shouting at me? Your voice keeps on ringing in my ears." Dome plopped down on the floor. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back to the wall.
"My head hurts." He complained. [I don't know what to do anymore. This guy is helpless.] Kevin groaned as he stared at Dome.
"Yeah, right. Only stupid people drink during school days. Stand up, I'll report you to any of the school admins present here." Kevin crossed his arms while waiting for him to stand up.
"Such a dickhead. Can't you see I'm struggling here? At least offer some help," Kevin rolled his eyes before squatting to get down on Dome's level.
"Ugh, you reek of alcohol. Don't you dare vomit, Dome. I won't hesitate to punch you," Kevin clings Dome's arms on his shoulders to help him stand up. As soon as they succeeded in getting up, they were caught by a school admin.
"Hey, what's going on here?" [Fuck it. We're caught.] Kevin curses in his mind while Dome is focusing himself not to vomit.
"Are you drunk?! This is a heavy violation against the school rules. Come with me to the discipline office. The both of you should be suspended,"
Kevin's face turned gloomy. He was involved with Dome's problematic ass once again. [I feel like I've been receiving bad luck ever since I met this asshole.]
"What happened, Kevin? You're such a role model student. Why did you commit such an act?" The discipline officer asked his first question.
Dome looked at Kevin. Although his vision is sort of blurry since he's still groggy, he knows that Kevin is trembling and speechless. [I fucked up big time.] Dome felt guilt in his chest.
"Sir, please spare Kevin. I'm the only drunk here, he just waited for me in the hallway because I'm the only missing in the class," [Is this me? Or am I just drunk? Why would I stand up for him? Yeah, maybe this is still the alcohol kicking in.]
"But why would you go to school drunk? Is that the right thing to do, Mr. Dome?" Dome shook his head to oppose.
"I'm afraid to say but it wouldn't be only you that would be suspended. Since Kevin is your class president, he's the one in-charge of all of you. It's his responsibility, so he'll receive the same sanction,"
[What the hell? That's not fair! That's not how responsibilities work!] Dome was supposed to stand up but Kevin spoke.
"Noted, sir. I apologize on behalf of Dome for this behavior. I'll make sure that this won't happen again. Sorry for the trouble," Kevin bowed his head to apologize. [I must be out of my mind. Yeah.]
The two were given suspension slips, meaning they aren't allowed to go to school for a week. Normally, suspended students would clean the campus but since the two came from a well-off family, they're considered as exempted from cleaning sanctions.
Kevin walked back to their room without a word. Dome wanted to apologize but he's not yet sober to utter the right words, so he just followed his lead.
[My parents won't get mad. I know it. They will believe in me more than the school admins. They're just too kind and they trust me so much, but I feel disappointed in myself. They don't deserve this kind of feedback.] Kevin aggressively fixed his things.
The two were tasked to go home since their suspension starts today.
"I-I'm sorry," Dome forced himself to apologize. He knew that this isn't the normal him, but he felt guilty for dragging an innocent person into his mess.
Kevin gave him a cold shoulder and left the room instead. Dome went to the restroom to wash his face so he could sober up. [Damn, now I have to patch up things with that nerd.]
He unbuttoned his uniform and checked his wound on his waist. "Fuck, that bastard went rough on me," Dome hissed as he touched the gauze pad. He buttoned his polo again and left.
After leaving the school premises, Dome saw Kevin walking from a distance. [Here goes nothing.] Dome walked quickly while putting compress to his wound.
"Hey, I'll talk to the admins and beg them to spare you from the sanction," Kevin halted when he noticed Dome. He paused for a while before facing him.
"No need. Just do me a favor. Fix yourself and don't be an ass. For fuck's sake, Dome! You don't go around like a mess involving innocent people. What if it's not me who got involved? Stop pestering others," Kevin shouted.
Dome gritted his teeth and grabbed Kevin by his collar. He dragged him to an abandoned alley. A few seconds later, he started laughing.
[Ahh, I heard it once again. 'Stop pestering others'. Yeah, that's the only thing people think what I'm doing in this fucking life of mine.]
"That's the reason why I hate people. They think problematic guys like me are always unaffected by this fucked up society. You won't understand where I'm coming from, Kevin," Dome released him and pulled out a cigarette from his pocket then he lit it up.
"Then, tell me. What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you being like this?" Kevin snatched the cigarette from Dome's mouth and stomped on it.
"There's no point in telling you. You live a good life, you have a good home. More importantly, you have parents who give a damn about you," Kevin was flustered. He stepped back and looked to the ground.
Dome unbuttoned his uniform and showed his wound. "See this? Have you ever experienced this from your parents even once in your life? No, right. Then you don't have the right to command me to fix my life because it's not even whole in the first place,"
Kevin was left alone in the alley. He leaned his head back to the wall and heaved a sigh. [Damn, he's really in a bad place. I can't blame him for having such behavior.]
"I just hope he can be safe in his own home,"
