Hammerhead Worm Boss

[Berserk Potion brewed]

[New type of Potion in region discovered]

[Would you like to reveal your name as the creator]

[Yes/No]

"No"

Wade then used [Inspect] out the new potion he made.

[Tier 1 Berserk Potion]

[A potion created by an Anonymous user. It has the effect of increasing user's damage but will make the user go berserk hurting allies and enemies. It is recommended to use this potion when you are alone.]

[Effect: 50% damage increase

Berserk effect applied for the duration of use

Duration: 10 minutes]

Wade thought that this potion would be useful even if you lost your state of mind. He brewed a couple more of these potions and realized the system had some more notifications that he didn't see before.

[Would you like to copy skills: Basic Spell Fireball, Basic Spell Heal, Basic Spell Vine Trap, Basic Spell Defense Increase, Basic Spell Damage Increase]

[Yes/No]

Wade saw that all of these spells had good use. [Defense Increase] and [Damage Increase] would be good for his general damage when using a skill. [Fireball] and [Vine Trap] would be a good combo with other skills like [Blood Manipulation].

He tapped [Yes] and felt something imprinted in his mind and a comfortable feeling going through his body.

He checked his menu and noticed his element stat had changed.

[Elements = Fire Affinity (Common) 2/100, Wood Affinity (Common) 2/100]

Wade didn't know anything about the [Elements] other than what they were. It seemed that affinity was the element the user had the most connection with. He probably had to kill more mages with this affinity to level it up.

Wade decided to go on a search for a boss. After all, he had a full day to do this. (A night is 12 hours but the game simulates it as 24 to make it a full day for everyone) He had walked for about 20 minutes deeper into the forest when he encountered a new kind of animal.

A giant snail. This snail had green goo leaking out under its shell and everything but its shell was neon green. He used [Inspect] to see its weaknesses and saw something surprising.

[Toxic Giant Snail (Uncommon)]

[Level 20]

[Hp = 2000/2000 (Shell) = 1000/1000

Wade decided not to engage the snail in melee combat as the green goo that leaked out beneath it melted the grass that it slid over.

He unsheathed the two longswords on his back and activated [Blood Manipulation]. Since snails consisted of 25-50 percent blood, Wade thought that [Blood Manipulation] would surely work on the snail.

As blood leaked out of the snail's skin, instead of blue blood that he expected to come out of the snail, it was green instead. Constant red numbers floated out of the snail's shell.

The blood floated toward him but Wade launched the blood into a hole in the ground. Slowly, the snail's skin turned from lively neon green to a dry gray.

It seemed the snail had died as he had received the exp notification.

[Toxic Giant Snail slain]

[+1000 experience] (There won't be any experience boosts for killing mobs of higher levels because if there were Wade would've already been level 100 or something LOL)

[Experience = 1447/1200]

[Level Up]

[You are now Level 13]

[Experience = 247/1300]

[30 stat points gained]

[3 stat points have been assigned to Agility and 2 stat points to Strength]

Wade didn't even look at the stat points as he was interested in the blood from the snail. He used [Inspect] and saw something that wasn't surprising whatsoever.

[Toxic Giant Snail's Blood (Uncommon)]

[The blood from an (Uncommon) Toxic Giant Snail. Has to be kept in a suitable container or the blood will become acid in three days.]

[Effect: If used on weapon [Poisonous] trait for 10 days.

If used on a poisonous animal, strengthen the animal's poison ability by a certain amount.

If used in a potion, make the potion poisonous unless suppressed by other herbs or materials.]

He decided to throw away some of the worm blood he kept for some of this blood. This was also an experiment. Could [Bloodshed] and [Bloodbath] contain multiple layers of blood.

Wade threw out a couple liters of worm blood he was keeping and used [Bloodshed] to absorb the toxic blood.

Surprisingly it worked. [Bloodshed] still had gallons of worm blood remaining and only a couple liters of the toxic blood.

After collecting all the toxic blood, he started slicing the snail's shell into pieces and storing it in his storage wristband.

'This shell could prove to be good armor later on and I can forge it with the forge and anvil I brought from the blacksmith shop before'

This was what Wade thought as he walked to a clear-looking meadow in the Beast Forest and took out his blacksmithing tools.

Wade had cut the snail's shell into 13 pieces. 3 pieces for the upper body and torso, 5 pieces for the legs and waist, 4 pieces for the gauntlets and arm guards, as well as 1 final piece to fit over his bandana.

Wade didn't create boots because he already had the Wild Wind Wolf boots. He also knew as long as there were two pieces of the same material and design, it would be considered a set of armor depending on how many pieces he created.

Constant metal clangs could be heard as Wade hammered the 13 shell pieces into lightweight armor that could be fitted over his clothes. When he finished he saw 13 gray pieces of beautiful intricate armor.

Wade had used a graver to create a few familiar symbols on his armor. A graver was a tool like a chisel but it was used to carve out metal instead.

There were jaws on his mouthpiece that looked like a wolf's. He had carved this because it was intimidating and because the first animal he had killed in this world was a wolf.

Wade then looked toward his chest piece and shoulder pads. His shoulder pads had similar-looking wolf jaws engraved on each side. He had only included the jaws and not the head of the wolf as he thought it would make him an animal enthusiast in the eyes of others and not a ferocious murderers.

There was a red silhouette engraved onto the middle of the chest piece. He had also added straps to the side of it to accurately connect onto the shoulder pads.

The kneepads were the same as the shoulder pads with fierce teeth on them. The leg armor was a bit different however as it had no engravings on it other than two lines that made it look a bit sleeker.

Wade checked the stats of his new armor.

Wade was satisfied with his new armor and equipped it before setting out to search for a boss once more.

*********************

A few hours later...

Wade had killed a lot of Wild Wind Wolves and Giant Snails as they were the only monsters in the forest that were worth killing. Everything else was killed in one casual hit and wasn't worth it to look for other than coming across it.

Soon Wade arrived at a suspicious-looking cave. The cave had light coming out of it and he decided to check it out while laying his hand on [Reaper's Edge] in case he needed to defend himself.

Wade stepped on something quite soft. As it cracked, he could feel a force pushing his foot upward.

Wade knew that this couldn't be good and immediately activated [Inspect] before stomping his foot back down. He didn't have a light source and without light, he couldn't see what the monster was. He could tell that it was quite disgusting with the squish noise it made when he stomped on it. He looked at the monster's stats after looking at them, he wanted to kill the thing because it was just what he was looking for.

[Hammerhead Worm (Epic)(Boss)]

[Level: 50]

[Health = 500,000]

[Abilities:

Earth Aura: Increase Damage Reduction by 10%]

Suck = If the worm is attached to the enemy, will begin to suck the enemy into itself after using [Spit]. Usage rate = Varies

Earth Tunnel = Can create tunnels to appear anywhere in the ground to escape or to attack. Usage rate = High]

Wade could barely see the worm in this dim light so he lit a fireball on his hand and swept it along his katana as well as drawing out some of the poison from the snail and smearing it on his katana.

His katana now had poison and fire on it. Due to evaporation the poison would be running out soon as well as unleashing a poison mist into the room that would affect him as well even if he had the poison absorption ability from his armor.

This would be a long fight due to the health that the worm had. Wade focused his entire self on this fight and ran toward the worm with determination in his eyes.

The worm slid toward him opened its mouth as if inviting him to jump inside.

Wade leaped onto the worm then activated [Edge of the Blade] and slicing the worm in half from the side when he slid down. A large red number appeared.

The worm slid away while shooting thousands of spit from its mouth toward him. Wade continuously used his high movement speed and [Block] to dodge the pieces of spit. The worm was out of sight for him and the poisonous mist was continuously getting absorbed by [Poison Absorption]. He hoped the poisonous mist would hurt the worm as worms breathed through their skin, it's insides were already exposed due to his [Edge of the Blade].

Wade suddenly heard a cracking noise behind him and leapt forward without any hesitation. He turned around mid-air to see a worm shooting spit as it slid toward him.The worm kept spitting and soon the entire cave was covered in its spit. He stood in the one spot without worm spit on it but saw another barrage incoming. He started running on the walls to escape the spit. He was slowly running out of space to dodge. The spit was preventing him from reaching the worm.

After another hour of dodging, the walls were in the same condition as the floor. He had used all his [Berserk Potions] and [Speed Potions]. Most of his skills were used dozens of times. It was now time for Wade to risk it all as he pulled out both of his longswords [Bloodshed] and [Bloodbath]. He then unleashed [Blood Manipulation] while releasing most of the poisonous blood into the cave.

Wade had emptied a total of 20 gallons of poisonous blood and let them swarm toward the worm. The worm tried to run but the poisonous blood prevented the worm from touching the ground.

A noxious smell permeated the room about thirty minutes later and Wade looked up to see a worm with many holes in his skin laying in a pool of poisonous snail blood.

He wiped the sweat off his face before recollecting the leftover blood.

Wade sighed in relief as his exp had shot through the roof.

[20,000 Experience gained] (For those who think this is a lot it's really not for a level 50 boss. Remember a level 1 wolf that wasn't even elite gave Wade 200 exp? 200x50=10000 and the wolf wasn't epic grade. Also, when players are level 50 it'll take them 50,000 exp to level up so this really isn't a lot. Btw, if you want to know the multiplier for bosses exp is Common = 1.1, Uncommon = 1.25, Rare = 1.5, Epic = 2, Legendary = 5 and so on so forth. I'll update this soon :D)

Wade once again picked up the loot of the boss and saw disappointing things. However, there was one item that piqued his interest.

[looted 200 gold coins]

[looted Hammerhead Worm Spit (Sealed)(Consumable)x1034 = Can be used as an immobilizer tool if used correctly.

It seemed the [Hammerhead Worm Spit] was the best item, one could earn from this boss.

Wade headed back to the village after washing his virtual body in a river near the cave and killing a few wolves and snails on the way back. He never saw the [Swallow Worms] again due to them being exterminated on the eastern side of the Beast Forest.

Only his back was visible as he held his katana in its sheath as he dashed toward the village at breakneck speed.
