Wagon ride to Horseshoe Overlook

It took an hour to reach camp with the horses at full gallop. When we arrived everyone started to pack up all they have onto wagons and I immediately hop off Arthur's horse when we get to camp to help out.

After about an hour of packing everyone settled in for the ride to Horseshoe Overlook, our new campsite for the foreseeable future, with everyone being in the same carriages as usual but me and Daisy are stuck in the back of Arthur's wagon with Vince in the wagon ahead of us when all of a sudden after we cross the stream by Cumberland Falls I hear,[CREEAAKK, SNAP!], and the back left wheel of the cart is knocked out of place, throwing me off the cart and into the river we just passed while throwing some things from the wagon.

"Ah god dammit!" I hear Arthur yell out as I pick myself out of the water, "You guys alright! what happened!" I hear Charles yell from the wagon in front of us, "wheel fell off! we'll catch up later! c'mon you three, let's get this back together", Arthur yells back to Charles as Daisy, Hosea, and me get into position to pick up the end as Charles yells back,

"Alright! but we don't have all day!", as we get behind the cart and lift it as Arthur puts the wheel in place, we notice three horseriders on the cliff far behind us, "Think their trouble?", Arthur says aloud, "If they were looking for trouble we wouldn't of seen 'em, poor bastards", Hosea says back, "Waddya' mean 'poor bastards'?", Arthur says as we pick up the thing that'd fallen from the wagon, "Well get on and I'll tell ya, better to get movin' before they change their mind anyhow", Hosea remarks back as we get back on the wagon and I tune out their conversation I've heard many times before as we continue down the path to the new camp.

We are riding past a small roofed bridge when suddenly the hairs on my neck stand up and look down the hill to my left and I see two wolves rushing towards us, suddenly everything is tinted red as I draw my pistol and as I take aim, a couple black X's dot the wolves and my arm moves on its own as I aim and fire, hitting the marks dead on as the two wolfs tumble head-over-heel before rolling back down the hill as they die and I slump back into the cart with a headache as I hear Hosea yell out,

"Damn! Nice shots kid! Not as good as Arthur here, but considerin' your a rookie, not bad!", I give him a quick nod as thanks for the praise and reload my revolver as I calm down a bit, 'seems I get Dead-eye at least', I had been testing certain things I could do in the game, like the weapon wheel, etc. on the ride so far but couldn't find anything out that I could do like the game, 'Guess Dead-eye's better than nothing', I thought as I stayed quiet, just listening to Arthur and Hosea make small talk as we continue on our way.

All of a sudden I feel a tap on my shoulder when Arthur and Hosea are done talking, "so what's your story?", Daisy says to me, "yeah I know Lenny freed you three on the train but what happened to you guys to end up there?", I hear Arthur ask from up front, "I suppose I could tell you all, I haven't spoken a word to you all yet, not even one word of gratitude, so I suppose I owe you my story(or at least the one this body has)", I tell them, "well for starters my name is Lawrence, but people knew me as Law, I was living in a coal mining town up north-east of here, my father was a coal miner and my mother cleaned peoples buissnesses for money, sometime after turning 9 years old my father died of black lung and my mother couldn't handle the pain of loosing him and shot herself", I begin to tell them,

"Dear god thats awful son", Hosea says trying to give condolences, "It's quite alright, I understand how tragic such a thing is in other peoples perspective, but it was quite liberating to no longer be required to go and work in the mines to clear my father's debt, so afterwards I became a thief, and an extremely good one too, to the point of having Pinkertons sent to arrest me, I almost escaped but a contact of mine rat me out and I was caught and was being transport to a prison down by Spanish territory to do labor in a prison, but here we are, how about you Daisy? Your apparently known by the Pinkertons pretty well", I finish and send the conversation over to the blond sitting next to me,

"yeah what IS a pretty little one like you doing in a place like that, I can understand Law's reason, but what about you?", Hosea interjects into the conversation, "Well", Daisy begins, "My father was a owner of Native lands and kept the deeds to allow the people to continue to live there,, and was a buissness partner to Cornwall and sold his products to the Natives so he knew him quite well, when one day the Native tribes were pushed out by hired gunmen of Cornwalls because gold was found on their land and when my father confronted him about it he was killed by Cornwallls men and had his buisness taken over and when my mother and I tried to flee I was shackled and thrown on the train while my mother was raped and killed by the gunmen he hired", Daisy says with tears in the corner of her eyes as she finishes her story.

"Damn, I knew Leviticus was a stone-hearted buissnessman but this takes the cake", Hosea says before we hear Javier call out to us and we pick him up and head into camp and I help everyone finish setting up tents and such while Hosea argues with Dutch about how we aren't safe and Strauss says something to Dutch before I hear, "Alright everyone! Put your tools down a gather round!", Dutch says as we gather in a semi-circle in front of his tent,

"I know things have been tough... but we are safe now, and far too poor. So it is time for everyone to get to work", when Hosea interjects, "get to work but stay out of trouble. remember, we are-", before Dutch begins to speak again over Hosea, "We were laid off when they shut off our factory to the north. Now get out there, and see what you can find. Uncle, Reverend Swanson, no more passengers. It is time! For everyone, to earn, their, keep!"

"There is a town a little way down the track by the name of Valentine", Hosea begins to speak again, "Livestock town full of all mud and morons if I remember right. It seems to be a decent place to start", this time its Pearson who interjects, "AND... we need food... real food, that means every day, one of you", then Dutch begins to speak again, "And remember! whatever it is that you find, the camp gets it's slice! Now be sensible out there", as he says that Arthur is pulled away to his tent as the rest of us begin to set up the smaller tents.
