Call me

It did not take that long before an ambulance arrived at the place and came to their rescue.

As expected, the guy died due to the impact after being by Ana's car. Police mobiles also arrived on the scene and they told them everything that happened. Ana was taken into custody but they assured them that everything would be handled with just.

After everything was finally settled, it was only then that Cassie was able to heave a sigh of relief. She looked up in the dark night sky and there she saw the moon.

For some reason, the glow from the moon always never failed to give her some warmth. But for some reason, when she stared at the full moon that night, she felt something different; and then out of the blue, a memory flashed right before her eyes.

She was reminded of the night that she lost her parents and when she was attacked by their doppelgangers. Then she remembered the man that saved her.

She used to not see his face in her memory. Regardless of how hard she tried to remember his face, she simply could not. All she could remember about him was that the other party possessed a pair of violet eyes.

But then, this time was different. The mysterious mist that had been shrouding the face of her savior was no longer there and when Cassie finally had a good look at the face of the man who saved her years ago, she was surprised to see that he has a striking resemblance with Jared. If it was not for the difference in the color of their eyes, Cassie reckoned that she could mistake them to be the same person.

"But then how about if he was using a contact lens?"

The idea was absurd but not impossible and when that realization dawned on her, she gasped and clasped her hands together to put it over her mouth; she nodded her head slowly as if that would help her digest the information.

"That guy, he must have the answer for all of this."

She muttered under her breath

Although the fact that the other party was kind of weird and it was somewhat freaking her at some point, Cassie knew that he was the only person that could give her an explanation of what was going on.

So she tried to look for the contact detail that Jared left for her. But because he wrote it on her forearm and she was wearing a long sleeve at the moment, she could not access it right away.

Cassie was so desperate to get the answers that she needed so without paying any heed to her surroundings as well as the eyes that were on her, the girl started taking off her layer of clothes until all that was left to her was her brassiere. Thus perfectly exposing her skin where Jared's cell phone number was written.

At this point, Cassie could only care less about the opinion of the people around her. Especially when it was her life that was at stake.

Without wasting a second, she immediately punched Jared's number on her phone and put it right next to her ears afterward. She waited for it to ring, but to her dismay, she was redirected to the other party's voicemail.

"Hi. This is Jared's phone, leave a message after a tone"

"Dammit!"

Cassie cursed out loud when she heard the automated voice on the other line. But then she knew she has no time to waste so as soon as she heard the short 'beep', she started narrating on the phone.

"The possessed guy, he came after me. My friend ran him over and he is dead."

Cassie tried to make it as brief as possible but even on her own ears, the word sounded too cruel.

"Where are you?"

She added, still trying to catch her breath. But then at that moment, she understood why Jared was not picking up his phone.

"Oh yeah, I remember it is Tuesday; chipotle night. That explains why."

Then Cassie paused for a while before adding,

"Call me?"

After saying that, Cassie decided to end the call since she no longer has anything to say. She already mentioned everything she has to. But then right at that exact moment, the cold breeze from the night draft decided to blew and it made her shiver.

Due to the anxiety and tension building upon her because of her previous encounter, Cassie momentarily felt unbothered by the cold. But now that everything was starting to subside and her mental and emotional state was slowly returning to normal, it was then that she was also starting to feel the cold wind biting on her skin.

One by one, she picked up her clothes from the ground and hastily put them on, all the while looking around her to check if anyone was paying her attention. Thankfully, there was none.

"PHEW!"

Cassie heaved a sigh of relief when she realized that no one was looking at her. She was glad that she was able to save a face. Otherwise, she would definitely feel embarrassed and would hope for a hole to just appear so she could dive straight to it and disappear for good
