Jared's POV
~~~
I partied very hard last night and it somewhat eventually ended up going pretty crazy, let alone say, quite out of hand.
The last thing I recalled was having a blast with Rico and the others, but the next thing I knew, me and the rest of my gang already ended up passed out right before our doorstep.
Apparently, when I woke up, the first thing that greeted my eyes was my team lying on the porch alongside me.
At this point, I could say that I was partly disappointed, but another half of me was satisfied with the situation we were currently in.
At least we got to enjoy how it felt to be drunk every Tuesday and have fun partying all night, less the hangover part that one would often have to endure right after waking up the next day. Perks of being a fallen angel I guess.
If truth would be told, this was only one of the few things that I was grateful about staying here.
Being left out by the Upper Realm definitely has its pros and cons and there was no need to mention that the disadvantages obviously outweighed the advantages.
But fallen angels like me eventually managed to get in terms with these changes over time and we already accepted our fate; being trapped in this so-so realm.
However, I would also be lying if I am going to say that not a day had passed that I did not spend time looking at a distance thinking of what-ifs.
What if I did not decide to go out that day???
What if I remained to the other side of the gate???
To be honest, there were still times that I dreamed about returning to my previous glory and going back to the Upper Realm.
Anyway, let us just focus on the positive thing for now. As I am saying, I could go wasted for all I wanted while being spared of the head-splitting headache; not that I personally knew how it felt to get a hangover. It was only described to us by our mortal friends.
It turned out that because of the fact that we have been staying in this realm for way too long, its 'mortalness' was already, slowly rubbing on us.
Could you believe that? We, angels, were not only making friends with mortals, but we were also living exactly the way they were doing so!
Over time, some of my peers even learned to adapt too well enough to the point that they also started having vices like drinking, smoking, doing d r u g s, and even philandering!
But I guess, that was what was bound to happen considering that we were left with no choice but to live that way, otherwise we won't be able to stick our noses to where the demon skins could possibly be lurking.
