Meanwhile, I have no idea when did Jared ever started having an interest in observing me nor I was aware of how stupid I looked at the moment.
To begin with, I did not realize that I am gawking, let alone know how long has it been since I left my jaw hanging and had my mouth wide open until Jared insinuated about it and pointed it out for me.
"You can close your mouth now."
He whispered next to my ear and I felt my heart skip a beat when he did that.
To be fair, I was actually expecting him to pay me no heed, in the first place. So I was taken aback when all of a sudden, I heard him speaking to me, not to mention within such a close proximity.
I did not even notice it when he moved beside me! Swear to god, the last time I checked, he was just standing in front of me.
"Otherwise, I can't guarantee you that a fly would not end up inside it. This place is not insect free."
Jared added and I saw his lips break into a grin after saying that. At the same time, it was only then that I notice that my lips were left agape.
Embarrassed, I hurriedly pursed my lips afterward until they formed a line. On the other hand, I saw Jared open the door for me before I could even say anything and although I used to have quite a few reservations about him before, it was long gone now.
I stepped inside the house with a newfound confidence for the other party's character. I also noticed that he did not lock the door behind him when he entered. Before I could even consider how he would react if he saw me doing it, a sigh of relief already escaped my lips.
"Just bear with them, They will come back eventually."
Jared told me before he proceeded to give me a wooden chair.
"Thanks."
I mumbled my thanks as I received the chair from him. On the flip side, I busied my eyes to look around the house and I was surprised when I saw how much space their living room could still accommodate.
However, It was not that the house was particularly spacious. Rather it was mainly due to the fact that their interior design was severely lacking; or more accurate to say, the house was almost empty.
The floor was spotless though, I would give him that and I supposed that the entire house was squeaky clean as well. The place smelled fresh like a lemon and the only thing that could convince me that this place was made possible to smell this nice was because someone sprayed air freshener all over the entire area.
I was almost certain with this assumption of mine it was set to a stone. Besides, I did not think anyone could tell me otherwise, and made me change my mind.
I was just about to take my sit when out of nowhere, the door burst open. Yet I saw no one entering so I thought it was just the wind. But then, when I looked back at where Jared was, I saw that he already have a company and it was looking at me.
One moment, he was standing alone, and then the next second, there were already two of them in the room.
"Hi...."
I greeted the new guy with keenness. But truth be told, it took me a lot of effort to amend my tone and make myself sound as cordial as possible. In fact, that single word alone cost me all the warmth in store; to the point that I felt like I was exhausted as soon as I was done greeting the new guy.
If truth has to be told, my introvert ass freaked out the instant I found out that there was another person inside the room other than me and Jared.
However, I did not want my anti-social personality to get in the way. So in an attempt to make myself more desirable by a stranger, I tried to act with zeal. I even had to gather all the enthusiasm that I could muster in my person and inject it into my voice as I speak.
After all, the last thing that I wanted to happen at this point was to appear reserved in from of him
But at the same time, inside my head, I was asking myself.
How could these people move as fast as a breeze?
"Hi."
Meanwhile, the other party beamed at me and I was surprised by how vivacious he was compared to Jared. As early as now, I could already tell that the two of them were the direct opposite of one another.
