Chapter 80: Talk With Vane

I only heard silence after asking that question, but soon, he spoke.

"It… is nothing, really. I was just feeling a bit unwell at the time," He smiled at me, and continued, "You worry too much sometimes, Auguste."

Even though I was a bit skeptical, I still nodded and said, "If you say so…"

An awkward silence ensued between us but not for long, as I took out a red crystal necklace, and said, "This is for you," I gave him the necklace, and he picked it up, a bit confused, "This necklace will protect you from any malevolent magic, mind-invading magic, and ailments such as your current flu. My master gave this to me so that I could be protected from those things, but I thought that maybe, you needed this more than me."

My master didn't give this to me, I bought this from the [Shop] for 300,000 KP. It's a useful crystal necklace that negates anything that's bad to its user, even things such as sickness. Of course, I also have this but in the form of a bracelet. But I didn't think of the size and bought a bracelet that's the same size as an adult's wrist, and I'm still a toddler, so it's a bit hard to put on. I'll probably only wear it whenever I need it.

"That's rather… convenient. I didn't know magic equipment such as this exists. Thank you though, this may be one of the best gifts I've had this year," He said, grateful and a bit surprised. But inside his mind, he was more than joyful, he was exhilarated. This thing can solve his mental problems for a while since that voice is still bothering him, even now.

I waved it off, and said, "Don't worry about it. That's what brothers are for, right?" But even then, I still felt a bit of a heartache whenever I remembered the 600,000 KP I lost while flying to Vane's house. I didn't know why I bought them, maybe for the sake of a gift or something but even then, I don't really mind it that much. I mean, he's my brother, I should at least be doing this much. Though… I sometimes forget that I have another family from the orphanage other than Vane. I should visit them from time to time.

There are 7 ranks for equipment grades.

Mortal, Elite, Spirit, Earth, Sky, Moon, and World. They are also separated by smaller ranks from rank 1 to 10.

And, if this crystal necklace was to be inspected and graded by professional appraisers, it would be ranked as a Rank-6 Earth Equipment. And my poisonous dagger could be ranked in between Mortal and Elite since its poison is more than enough to kill adult ogres.

And if Vane were to learn how high-grade this necklace is, he would be shocked because there are only 30 or so Earth Equipment in the sect and they are all with the Elders at the moment. And the one and only Sky Equipment is with my master, Yule Atlas. That Sky Equipment is a sword, a very powerful sword that could cut the sky in two if used right by the wielders.

But the Main Sect is even more absurd because they have a hundred Earth Equipment, 10 Sky Equipment, and 1 Moon Equipment, reportedly being used by the current Patriarch of the Main Sect. And each branch of the sect has the same number of magic equipment given to them by the main sect. There are 10 branches all around the world, with the Bronze Continent only having one branch, which is this sect.

With the exception of the magic equipment found outside of the sect, the estimated amount of them in this branch is 1000 Mortal Equipment, 400 Elite Equipment, 100 Spirit Equipment, 34 Earth Equipment, and 1 Sky Equipment.

Overall, I think this branch of the main sect is a tad bit overpowered.

Me and Vane chatted for a while, checking on both of us. While I am powerful, I am still a child and he is worried whether I've been taking care of myself.

I scoffed at that, of course I—words became stuck in my head as I remembered what I did for the entire week.

I've been fighting literal demigods for the past few days in that god forsaken dungeon… is that the exact meaning of "taking care of oneself"?

Nonetheless, I still said yes, and continued our conversation.

Apparently, he has broken through the peak of Soul Detachment and has entered The Nascent Soul Realm, Level 1.

I was speechless. This guy just broke through one of the most powerful stages of Cultivation in just a year! He is a prodigy of cultivation, and he even said that he has not used a single cultivation resource to boost his cultivation speed, he showed me the proof by taking out a box full of bottled pills and body-cleansing liquid!

Maybe I could refer him to my master since Vane seems to be the perfect disciple for every teacher out there, and that's not me exaggerating! This guy would be sought by every elder in the sect to be their disciple, and the only reason he hasn't been recognized as a Nascent Soul cultivator is because he keeps hiding his true cultivation, masking it with the aura of a Foundation Establishment cultivator.

Anyway, shocked as I was, I didn't make a comment and listened to his words.

After a few hours or so, I left his house, fully satisfied with our conversation, and went to my master's mansion.

(After A Bit of Flying)

I reached the mansion at 7 PM, landing just outside of their gates.

"Hello! Anyone here?" I shouted, trying to attract their attention.

Soon, a guard came to check who was shouting in the middle of the night, only to see a child, me, who was smiling at him.

Confused, the guard asked, "Why are you shouting here in the middle of the night, child?"

I brightened my smile, and said, "I am looking for the Patriarch, can you let me in so that I could ask him whether I could live in his mansion or not?"

Now, he was totally confused.

"You do know who the Patriarch is, right? Kid?" The guard said, a bit dumbfounded that someone actually had the guts to ask to live in the house of the Patriarch.

I nodded, "Of course I know who he is! I'm not stupid!" I yelled, forming an angry expression on my face.

"Woah, woah, calm down kid, I was just asking. But, you cannot live in this mansion. I don't know where you came from or who you are, but please leave. If you don't, I'll have to escort you back to wherever your house is," The guard said, coming in as a bit threatening.

I frowned, then sighed, and said, "I guess I can do that also."

The guard thought I was going to leave, when he suddenly felt a huge amount of pressure over him, almost making him kneel!

I am currently releasing a bit of my blue aura to let my Master know I am here.

Not a second later, Yule Atlas, in his nightgown, in his black nightgown/pajama, landed in front of me, with the gate the only thing between us.

I retracted my aura, and said, "Yo, master! Say, can I live in your house for a while?"

Looking at me, he sighed, then said to the guard, "You're dismissed, Eliot. Go back to your duty."

Eliot, the guard, stood up, dusting off his armor, and saluted, then promptly left.

After the guard left, Yule said, "Couldn't you have come a bit earlier than 7 in the night? Most of my servants are already resting, and I can guess that you've just disturbed them after using that amount of aura."

I scratched the back of my head sheepishly, and said, "Sorry, I just didn't know how to get your attention, so I did that."

He sighed again, "Doesn't matter as of now, just don't do that again. Come inside, we'll have a chat."
