Chapter 81: A Sudden Intrusion

In the living room of the patriarch's mansion is where I sat, on their sofa, of course. In front of me was my master with only a glass table between us. On top of the table were orbs made of marbles all placed in a single, delicately designed, bowl. They looked rather pleasing in the eyes, so to say.

Unlike last time when I came here, there were no servants around, only the two of us, master and apprentice.

After explaining my reasons as to why I'm here, my master looked a bit troubled.

"So, the reason you came here was because some girl was stalking you? And you say she had knocked on your door, waiting to meet you, and she wanted you to become her lover?" He said, getting the gist of it all.

"You got it point on, master. I was creeped out by that since, when have you ever seen a 17 years old girl trying to woe a 4-year-old boy?" I said, though I guess I am overreacting a bit.

He sighed, again, and said, "That, indeed, warrants for you to leave your house. But I've seen many cases like this in my lifetime, and I've seen women and men pursuing children younger than you. But what would you like for me to do? She hasn't done anything to you yet and no rules have been broken by her visiting. I cannot just put a disciple in the sect prison just because she was at your house. It would cause unrest in the disciples, and your identity as my disciple will be revealed soon, causing even more unrest."

Confused, I said, "But I'm not planning on getting her arrested."

He raised an eyebrow, and said, "Really?"

"Yeah. I'm just a bit creeped out, but I find her amusing in a way. At least she knows how to keep her distance, unlike a certain teammate of mine," I said, getting annoyed at the mere thought of getting squished in one of Scarlet's death hug. And, she becomes violent often times, and that's really annoying.

"One of your teammates?"

"Scarlet Imperium. I'm sure you know of her. She's a bit of a headache."

A look of realization dawned upon him, and said, "Oh, that girl? Yeah, I heard from Garnet and Max that she is, indeed, a bit of a headache. She's a tad bit too boisterous for a child. I think I met her in some ball a few years back, and let me tell you, she was a shy little girl back then, contrast to her current fiery personality."

This time, I was the one who raised an eyebrow, "That's a surprise. Scarlet, shy? I think her name and that word could never mix well together."

He chuckled, "Yeah, surprising. But I think it has something to do with her mother. I won't tell you the exact details since it would be quite rude of me. I think Scarlet would rather have herself tell you about it. She feels quite close to you, Garnet said, she won't stop talking about you every single day to her father and grandfather. And she was especially worried when you disappeared. Now that we're on this topic, where did you go in the last few days?"

Sh*t, I need an excuse real quick.

[Say that you were training a technique that requires you to be alone because it's too dangerous, and also say that you gave up on training it since the requirements are just so hard]

Hearing tutorial bot's helpful advice, I inwardly smiled.

"Since the time that skeleton attacked me in the middle of the tournament and found out that it was due to necromancy, my interest was peak. So, I decided to delve into necromancy for a bit a few days ago but I found the requirements were a bit hard, so I quit," I said, after making a hasty lie.

He nodded, but said grimly, narrowing his eyes, "A wise choice, considering that necromancy is a dangerous magic to learn. While it is not a forbidden magic, delving too far into necromancy will make you fall under the watchful eyes of the hidden masters all around the world. Promise me you'll never try to learn necromancy, Auguste."

I nodded hastily, and said, "Don't worry, that won't happen again."

"Good. Anyway, I'll think about your stay here. For the meanwhile, go sleep in the guest room," He stood up, as did I, "Follow me."

(A Few Moments Later)

I have to say, this mansion is quite big. I get that he has many servants, but god do I feel a bit nauseous after seeing the same hallway over and over again.

We reached the guest room, and he told me to have a good night and promptly left me on my own device.

I opened the dark door with curious patterns carved all over it, and when I entered, I saw heaven.

There was not just 1 sofa, nor 2, not even 3! There were 4 sofas in the guest room, all of them having their own distinct color! Purple, blue, red, and black. They were stationed in all directions, with a small refrigerator on each side of the sofas.

The lighting of the room also enhanced its appearance, as the walls were dyed the same color as each of the sofa against them, and the floor was covered by a black carpet with some strange patterns all over it.

Overall, the room is satisfactory for me.

Unbeknownst to me, Yule had ordered some of his servants with his mental communication magic to clear this room and re-design it according to my taste the moment he heard me say I wanted to stay in his house. And I am, quite frankly, in love with sofas. Especially sofas that has good exterior design.

I opened one of the fridges in the room, and saw many bottles of soda cans, all in the single small fridge. I think these things were imported from the Platinum Continent as the Bronze Continent doesn't have the technology or the knowledge on how to make a f*cking soda.

I took a can and inspected it, frowning as I didn't know how to open it.

I took out my scythe from my storage ring, and he shouted, "Oh for the love of—don't you ever put me in your storage ring, ever again! That was the worst experience I have ever felt in my life! It felt like somebody was touching me, bending me, all over the place!"

I shushed him, "Shh, don't shout. My master might hear you, and I can't let anyone know that I have a talking scythe with me!" That's true. I can't let anyone I still don't trust to know about my scythe. The only people I ever trusted in this world right now are Alexander, Vane, and my sweet, sweet, sweeeet, Alice.

"Sh*t, you should've told me!" He said in a hush voice.

"Anyway, I took you out so that I can use you to open this can of soda," I said, and I could hear my weapon gasp in horror.

"You're going to use a sentient weapon who has lived for thousands of years, had been wielded by legendary heroes, to open a can of soda!? Are you insane!?"

"No, I am perfectly sane. It's just that I don't know how to open this, so I decided I might as well make a use out of you," I explained.

"Use another f*cking weapon! You have dozens upon dozens of sharp weapons in your storage ring for god's sake! And why can't you just open it using that tab on top of it!?"

Looking down on my soda, I did saw a tab on it. Curious, I put the edge of my index finger at the end of it and use a bit of force.

*Pop*

It opened.

"Oh…"
