Base Camp

Khan's eyes turned to the side, a black speeder bike was waiting for him. It looked like a wheelless motorcycle hovering in the air. When he saw this he knew his plans were being executed.

Because of certain conditions, he couldn't let loose on his home planet. All of his theories and plans could only be saved to be tested later.

He moved to the bike and ran his hand along the smooth metal frame. His leg swung over and he straddled the bike. When it felt his weight, all the indicators on the bike lit up all at once. A display screen appeared on the hud, mapping the direction to the landing site.

With a twist of the throttle, the bike shot forward. Weaving between trees and plowing through tall grass, wind blew through his hair and his speed continued to increase.

He zipped through the forest it took him all day to walk through before. Out of the forest, he could see the towering ships being dismantled by droids. The spider bots moved like ants, carrying parts to hover vehicles to port back for processing.

He kept going and saw a large clearing over two kilometers long that had been opened up. There, the frame of the ship was already under construction. Not far from it the processing facilities and the core Habitat ship were parked.

White plated humanoid droids could be seen moving parts between the buildings. The same droids he designed for Habitat's body.

When he stopped next to a large metallic building closest to the ship, a droid exited the building. Unlike the all white droids he saw before, this one had black fibers running throughout its white plating like muscles.

Its face looked more feminine and had thin black fibers in a pixie cut hairstyle.

"Master Khan, you've returned right on time." Habitat looked Khan up and down, checking for injuries. Her eyes stopped on his lightsaber for a moment before looking away. "I saw the recording of the Holocron stop and I calculated the time it would take you to return."

"It seems like your intelligence has increased with the addition of all the droids. Calculating probability events is the realm of quantum computing."

He climbed off the bike and turned towards the ship, the heart of Habitat's computer. His hand raised and a wave of force rolled towards the ship. The force seemed to fuse with the ship and sank into the computer systems.

Every detail of the ship was transmitted to his mind and he gained control over all its systems. Through the force, he branded the machines with his will, making them completely under his control. It spread through the systems and transmitted to all the droids linked to the server.

Now he had further insurance besides the program code.

Habitat didn't react at all, she calculated this outcome the moment the force technique Mechu-deru was recorded on the computer.

"Organize all the Sith knowledge I recorded, especially analyze the lightsaber styles to program practice droids." His hand dropped and he walked towards his laboratory.

"Yes master, we found seven lightsabers in republic A-wings and Sith interceptors. They're being analyzed inside according to programmed instructions." Habitat walked one step behind Khan and began reporting.

The inside of the building was a large open space, almost like a storage warehouse. Humanoid droids we're constantly assembling equipment and setting up research areas.

Parts were transported through long tunnels connected to the factories to prevent contamination. Different indigenous species were already floating in tanks, ready for further research.

Belia worked with the droids to assemble a spherical machine. Coils wrapped the sphere and connected it to a power station.

She sensed something and turned around. When she saw Khan inspecting the lab her eyes lit up. She trotted over with a smile on her face. "You were gone for so long, I thought you got lost."

"Lost? Habitat has covered this entire planet, there should be thousands of droids. How can I get lost?" Khan's head finally turned towards Belia.

"It was just a joke, you don't have to take it so literally." She rolled her eyes and led them to the stand containing the lightsabers. "We found these, just like you said, the blade can cut through anything. We checked and cataloged all the internal parts before reassembling them."

"Yes, I found a lightsaber as well. The kyber crystal inside was calling to me, do you have a connection to any of these?" He touched his burnt lightsaber and looked at Belia.

Belia shook her head. "Nothing like that."

"Maybe because we're in the unknown regions. In other places, you might be able to feel a connection to a crystal." Khan reached out and grabbed a saber. The blade ignited and a blue blade appeared. He extinguished the blade and tried out the others.

Two blue, three green, and two red. His fingers spread and all but one of the red lightsabers floated in the air. The hilts came undone and exposed their internals. He began adjusting their settings, turning up the intensity of their containment fields.

This way the blades won't be able to cut or even damage anything, turning them into training sabers. When all the sabers were reassembled, the last one floated into his hand. "Take it, meditate with the kyber crystal and pour the light side into it. Try and wash the dark side out of the crystal."

Belia took the blade with a look of surprise. "Is that possible? That sounds like something you just made up."

He shook his head and sighed. "Don't underestimate the force. It seems like getting you some light side teaching materials is a must."

"Should I adjust our travel plans?" Habitat chimed in from behind.

Khan looked at the droid again. "I have to ask, did you design this body? How does it differ from my own design?"

"I altered this form to better mimic the human body. Mechanical fiber muscles cover the entire body, giving it increased strength and speed. I got the technology from the medical rooms on the damaged ships. They used it for prosthesis, I used it to make a body."

"It also has increased operational abilities." Belia's eyes started to glow when they talked about machinery. "She can extend small hair-thin mechanical arms from her fingers for delicate operations."

Khan couldn't help but nod as he listened. "Good, make sure the droids you design for lightsaber practice are also advanced."

"Master, will you not be discouraged if you can't beat them?" Habitat's head tilted to the side, completely mimicking human confusion.

"That would only make me happier."

Her eyes flashed and her mouth rose. If not for her hard shell it would be hard to differentiate her from a normal alien. "Leave it to me."

Habitat turned and left, moving towards the experimental robotics section of the lab.

With Habitat's body online it appeared he doesn't need to design any more droids.

His eyes turned towards Belia. "Wait for her to finish the droids and we can learn lightsaber combat together." He looked at the device she was working on before he came in. "For now, let's work on this fusion reactor."

"I've almost finished putting it together, the hardest thing was the power feedback loop. Are you sure this thing can draw power from itself to power itself?" Belia spun around and began talking about her work as they walked.

"Of course, it's simple physics. This will produce far more power than the containment field needed to hold it. This is only a prototype, the one built on the ship will use shielding technology."

Khan started checking the indicators on the machine. His yellow eyes flicked as he did. The elements in this galaxy are on a completely different level compared to what he knows.

Even a blaster pistol can turn gas into bolts of plasma with a power cell. Building a nuclear fusion reactor is too simple for him, something that was unthinkable before.

His main target of research was energy shields, Habitat can handle robotic research for him, and Belia is working on power storage.

All the diatium had been collected to make the power storage facility on the ship. Compared to other power cell materials, diatium can hold and recharge power better. That's why it's used in lightsabers.

"Everything looks good, start testing which gases undergo fusion the best. Make sure to factor in the collectability of the gas as well." Khan turned to Belia next to him.

"Uhhh." Her shoulders dropped and her face fell. "I'd have to go through all those records stipped from the crashed computers."

Khand reached forward and poked her forehead. "Or just ask Habitat." He moved past her towards another area of the lab.

"Genius! Why didn't I think of that." Belia palmed her face in embarrassment. When she noticed that Khan left, she stole a few glances at his back and continued her work. "No way he wants to mate, all he does is try to eat my mouth and touch my butt."

Instead of another research area, he went towards the living quarters. Once inside he made his way to the bathroom and stripped off his clothes.

After taking a long bath and putting on fresh clothes, he ate a full meal. He wasn't in a rush because he knew he'd spend a few years on this planet.
