PYRRHA NIKOS POV

"Jaune, are you alright?" she asked.

It has been two days since the dinner where the votes were held and it was decided that they would be capturing and selling the Huntress-in-training that were in the Bounty list.

Jaune had been… a bit melancholic since then.

Jaune looked at her and then at the dress she was wearing and gave her a small genuine smile.

It was a small smile but she'll take what she can get.

He put his arms around her waist and pulled her in for a passionate kiss.

They separated and Jaune caressed her lips.

"You look mesmerizing." He said as he rested his forehead against her own "I have half a mind to skip the dance and take you back to home right now."

Her heart skipped a beat as she remembered what he had planned for her back in the Pocket Dimension and her cheeks warmed over.

She pecked his lips once again "I don't think Ruby will like it if you miss the dance. Especially after you promised her dance as well."

"The things I do for Ruby." He said she chuckled before she started to pull him toward the main hall where the ball was being held.

He pulled her back and gave her an elbow to hold onto.

She smiled and took his arms and together, they entered the Ballroom.

A lot of the students were already there, including their teammates.

"Wow! Pyrrha. You look amazing." Ruby said cheerfully as she walked ran up to then, almost stumbling and falling a few times due to the high heels that Yang and Weiss had forced her into wearing.

She welcomed Ruby's hug and looked at her younger teammates who were wearing a beautiful Red Dress that either Weiss or Yang had forced upon her.

Poor girl.

She would've felt more sympathetic about Ruby's situation if she didn't know that this was exactly the kind of social interaction Ruby needed.

It was such a pity that no one asked Ruby for a date.

The girl reminded her of herself back when she didn't have Jaune in her life.

"You look pretty good yourself Ruby." She said and then looked at Weiss and Yang who were coming her way.

She didn't see Blake Nora or Ren. But the latter two were probably together in some other place and Blake was… Blake.

"Damn girl! That Red dress really suits you." Yang said as she hugged her as well.

"Yup." Jaune said as his arm snaked around her waist "Can't wait to tear it off of her." He said in a whisper as he winked at Yang.

"Jaune!" she said, a little scandalized that he would say that… to Yang of all people.

And if the look that Yang was giving her was any indication that Yang will start bothering her the next day until she gave her all the 'juicy details' about their night.

"Pyrrha. The Red suits you." Weiss said in a subdued voice.

"Weiss." She nodded. She wanted to ask the girl where her date was. But if she was here all alone then her date had either ditched her or she never managed to get that date in the first place.

Poor girl. She couldn't imagine how bad she'll feel if Jaune ditched her or couldn't attend the ball with her for some reason.

"Hey! The dance is starting. Let's go." Jaune said and she bid goodbye to her friends, trying not to feel too bad about their lack of dates as Jaune took her to the Dance Floor.

"Are you ready for this?" Jaune asked her as they entered the floor with the other students and she gave a hesitant nod.

"Good." He said and put an arm on her waist while put her own on his shoulder and they started to sway to the music.

Their movements were a little stiff and awkward at first but soon enough, they started to enjoy themselves. As she became a little more comfortable with herself, she climbed onto his boots and he took her weight without any difficulty.

His arms tightened around her waist and looked up to see his deep blue eyes staring right back at her.

He leaned down and she tilted her head and the world faded away into background noise as their lips met and she closed her eyes, losing herself in the moment.

Time lost its meaning and she didn't how long they kissed for but when she came back to herself, she realized that the dance floor was considerably more crowded than it was before they started. She guessed that they've been going at it for a while now.

Which meant that as much as she wanted this to continue, she couldn't. Because…

"Jaune, you promised a dance to Ruby." She reminded him.

Jaune sighed "And just when I was beginning to enjoy myself."

She moved forward and peck him on the cheeks.

"I'll be here when you are done with Ruby." She said "Though I suggest you offer a dance to Weiss and Yang as well. Those girls looked lonely without a date."

He nodded at her and she reluctantly separated from her so that he could go and ask Ruby for a dance as well.

The younger girl should have at least one good memory of tonight.
