MARIA CALAVERA POV

She jumped out of the way, her semblance allowing her to react before the attack even happened.

She was still almost caught in the attack as the Dragon's forelimb 'slammed' into the ground, creating a large crater and sending debris flying everywhere.

She used her twin swords to deflect the stones and pebbles heading her way only to move to the side and create a hasty block of the ice cones sent her way by Neo.

She saw Raven fighting Pyrrha out of her Peripheral vision and noticed Jaune using his tail to disrupt the one-sided beat down of Pyrrha by Raven.

This was her chance.

She moved to attack Neo while Jaune was distracted but the girl used her maiden power to create a wall of ice.

A wall that grew multiple ice cones that immediately shot toward her.

She dodged them rather easily but then Jaune was on her once again.

She grimaced in frustration as his lightning attack singed her clothes and dropped her aura by a few percentages.

Fighting Maidens was truly an irritating experience.

It has only been a week and Neo was already quite good at using her powers.

Without those maiden powers, Neo wouldn't have lasted this long even with Jaune's occasional help.

Though she had to admit that she was lucky as Neo's semblance didn't work on her thanks to the Mind Defense perk given to her by Jaune.

If Neo could use her semblance then this fight would be even more irritating than it already was.

She dodged, deflected, and blocked the next few lightning attacks from Jaune and then jumped into the fray against Neo once again.

The girl created a veritable army of ice crystals this time and sent them flying her way.

She once again cursed the unfairness of having a Maiden power and accepted the fact that this power does indeed give you a huge leg up in a fight.

As if Jaune would have bothered with this power if it wasn't useful.

Instead of dodging the crystals, Neo had thought, she attached her two swords by the hilt and then swung them in front of her like a wheel, destroying any crystal that came near her as she jumped toward Neo.

Neo hastily brought up her rapier to deflect her attacks but she was far stronger and faster, not to mention more experienced than the younger girl.

Neo deflected her first attack by the power behind it sent her own rapier to the side, leaving Neo wide open.

Neo create another cone of ice from under them in order to protect herself but she was too late.

She cut the ice cone in half and then kicked the girl on the face and sent her flying, well away from Jaune's protection range.

She went after Neo and launched a flurry of attacks against the younger girl. Neo did her best to defend herself. But in the end, it was futile.

Or what's what she thought until Neo froze the entire area around them.

The temperature plummeted and she saw her breath coming out of her mouth in a fog.

Such a sudden drop in temperature would've stopped anyone but not her.

Jaune's Wild Defense protected her even in extreme conditions and while the temperature in the area had suddenly gone below 0, it was still not as extreme as it could be.

She broke the ice holding her legs and shattered the hastily created ice wall before she fell upon Neo once again.

Only to cry out in pain as a lightning bolt came down from the cloud up above and destroyed the area they were standing on.

She felt her aura take a huge hit and her limbs twitched every now and then from the small amount of lightning managed to bypass her defense.

She looked at Neo and saw that the girl had faired better than her thanks to the fact that the attack was mainly focused on her and that Neo had hastily created an ice bunker to take the brunt of the lightning that fell from the sky.

She looked at the cloud up above, a little miffed that Jaune was able to summon them so quickly.

If she doesn't finish this fast then the thunderstorm will only grow worse and then both her and Raven will be fucked. And not the good kind of fuck either.

It was very difficult to stop Dragon Jaune once he was in his element.

Neo blinked at the storm up above and then at her and then she smiled.

Before she turned around and bolted away from the large form of Jaune.

She cursed in her mind and gave chase.

Neo was trying to get her as far away from Jaune as possible. Because time was not on her side.

If she allowed Jaune and Pyrrha to fight Raven on their own then they will demolish her teammate. Plus, if she takes too long to return then Jaune will increase the size of the thunderstorms up above, and at that point, she might as well surrender to him.

Thankfully, she was much faster than Neo and was able to catch up with before long.

This time, she didn't allow Neo's attacks to disturb her pace, taking on any ice crystals she sent her way head-on as she launched a barrage of attacks against the younger girl.

It wasn't long before the buzzer rang and Neo's aura went into the red.

The younger girl fell on her butt and pouted up at her.

She smirked back and then paled as another buzzer rang.

She looks back at where Jaune, Pyrrha, and Raven were fighting and saw the form of Raven buried under one of Jaune's forelimbs.

Poor woman.

Being trapped under his limbs was not fun at all.

And now she had to fight against Dragon Jaune and… a Pyrrha who was back to 100% aura thanks to Jaune.

Fuck!

She has already lost this fight.

The clouds forming up above were still manageable but she has never been able to defeat Dragon Jaune in a one vs one. And fighting him while Pyrrha took potshots at her from the side?

Yes. She knew a defeat when she saw one.

But that didn't mean that she would simply roll over and surrender.

She held her twin swords and let out a war cry before charging at them.

It was good to be young once again.
