MARIA CALAVERA POV

"That's it?" Jaune asked as he looked at the giant hundreds of meter long Centipede sleeping in his cave.

"Indeed." She replied "Think you can fight it on your own."

He turned to look at her "In my Dragon form. Yes. In my human form. I would have to run away."

"You don't have to fight it on your own Jaune." Pyrrha, the ever-faithful supporter of Jaune said.

But… Jaune needed to learn how to fight powerful opponents on his own. And what better place to do so than in a controlled setting like this. When all of them were present to aid Jaune if something went wrong.

Plus. Who doesn't want to see the fight between a Dragon and a Giant Centipede Grimm.

"Those who want to see Dragon Jaune and the Grimm Titan duke it out. Raise your hands." She said.

Both Miltia twins, Neo and Yang raised their hands while Ruby and Pyrrha looked worried and Raven simply ignored her words.

"I believe you're on your own this time Jaune" She said with a smirk.

She couldn't remember being this mischievous when she was young. No. Back then she was all serious and stiff and had only learned to enjoy life once she started to grow old.

Being young again was awesome. And she owed it all to Jaune.

That was why she would help him grow even if it meant pushing him in dangerous situations like these.

"Sure." Jaune said and then he removed his clothes and handed them to Pyrrha. He started to walk toward the Grimm Titan and when he was at well away distance from them, he turned into his Dragon form.

Seeing him turn into a dragon never got old for her.

The Giant Centipede sensed his arrival and woke up. It looked a bit disoriented after waking up from its decades if not century-long sleep and Jaune took this moment to pounce at it. Taking the Grimm between his claws and dragging it out of its cave with a few flaps of its mighty wings.

"Okay." She said, dragging everyone's attention to her "I bet 100,000 Lien that Jaune would get his ass whooped and would need our help to rescue him."

"Maria! We're not betting on something like this." Pyrrha said.

"I'll take the bet." Raven said, ignoring Pyrrha's words as if they were hot air "The fight will last no longer than 10 minutes before Jaune emerge as the winner."

Neo held an illusionary cardboard sign with 20 minutes written on it along with an image of Dragon Jaune standing on top of the dead Centipede Grim.

"The Centipede looks large," Melanie commented and indeed, it was much larger than they had initially anticipated. The fact that Dragon Jaune was able to drag it out showed just how powerful Dragons were. "I'm not sure if Jaune will be able to defeat it on his own. But I don't think that Jaune will get his ass whooped either. 100,000 Lien on Jaune needing our help after a long fight."

" How do you girls have so much money?" Yang asked, looking confused.

"Raven and the team stole the Dust that White Fang stole from the City of Vale. Then they sold the same Dust back to them for 50% of its original price" She said.

"That's… why didn't you return the Dust back to Vale?" Ruby asked as she gave a cute frown to Raven.

Raven scoffed "If they valued their Dust then they shouldn't have let it be robbed in the first place."

"That's how you would see it, won't you?" Yang said as she glared at her mother.

Raven looked away from her daughter and didn't offer a rebuttal.

The brewing argument was broken as the ear-piercing shriek of the Centipede rang in their ears.

In the past few minutes, Dragon Jaune had managed to remove all the Bone plates from over the Centipede's head.

At the moment, the Grimm centipede had wrapped itself around Dragon Jaune multiple times and was trying to pull him under the sand with little to no success while Jaune was letting loose a huge stream of lighting up the Centipede's unprotected head.

Hence, the dying scream.

It didn't take long after Jaune's lightning managed to blow off the Giant Centipede's head and… that was that.

"7 minutes 43 seconds." She said with a sigh before she turned to Raven "I'll give you the money when we're back at home."

Raven simply nodded and then turned to look at Neo and Melanie who pouted but nodded nonetheless.

They knew better than to renege on a deal with the ex bandit.

Not that 100,000 Lien really meant all that much to them.

Dragon Jaune walked up to them turned back into himself.

A naked himself.

She licked her lips, feeling her core grow wet from arousal at the sight. And she had no doubt that the other girls were feeling similar emotions at the moment.

Unfortunately for them Jaune quickly took his clothes back from Pyrrha and wore them.

Such a pity. She could've done with some more eye candy.

"Show me where the Relic is kept." Jaune said to her and she nodded before taking them deep inside the cave.

At the end of the cave was a pedestal and a sword was floating mid-air.

"There." She said and frowned when the others looked at her in confusion.

"What are you on about? There's nothing but a wall there." Raven said.

She frowned. Was this some kind of prank that they were playing at her?

"Are you serious right now?" She asked.

"There really is nothing there Maria." Pyrrha said.

"What are you saying Pyrrha. I can clearly see the sword. It's right there." Ruby said before she moved forward to take it and then flinched as an unseen barrier around the pedestal sent a jolt of lighting at her hand.

"Okay. There's definitely something there." Jaune said as he moved forward but didn't touch the barrier "Hmm… I can definitely sense something here. Magic of some kind. But nothing else aside from that."

"Are you sure Jaune?" Pyrrha asked.

"Yes. And I think I can understand why only Maria and Ruby are able to see through it." He said.

"Silver eyes." Raven said to herself and everyone turned to stare at her and Ruby's eyes.

"So Salem got access to the Relic of Destruction sometime in the past. And then she hid behind a barrier. A barrier that doesn't work on people with Silver eyes. Is that what's happening here?" She asked, feeling unsure about the whole thing.

Was the Relic even real or was it just a fake replica?

"That… doesn't sound like Salem." Raven said "If she had the Relic then why would she even keep it here. Why not take it with her to the Land of Darkness."

"I don't think it matters why the Relic is here. What matters is that it's here and we need to take it." Jaune asked as he put his hand through the barrier.

He cried out in pain and she looked at her scroll and saw his aura depleting at a slow and steady pace as he pushed his hand through the barrier.

The deeper his hand went, the faster his aura fell until he finally touched the sword at which point, his aura went from 67% to 57%.

"Jaune." She said worriedly.

Jaune didn't answer her. Instead, he grabbed hold of the sword, his aura falling even faster at this point before he finally pulled it out of that place.

She instantly felt a feeling of darkness surround her as the cave around them dimmed.

She looked at the Sword in Jaune's hand. It was pitch black in color and the dark vapor was coming off of it. Just looking at her made her fear for her life. And she knew that this was it.

It was the real deal.

Jaune still looked in pain so she looked back at her scroll. His aura was now at 23%. Not. It was now at 22%.

His Aura was still falling down. But the speed at which his aura fell had slowed down considerably after he pulled the sword out from within the Barrier.

Was the sword hurting him? Or did it need to use Aura to work?

She couldn't tell but she knew that if it had been any other man trying to pull the sword out of that place, then they would have died multiple times by now.

Jaune swung the sword at the ground and the sword went through the stone as if it was not even there.

Not only that, but the wound left behind by the Sword was getting wider, inch by inch as an inky blackness ate through the stone where the sword had passed from.

She shivered.

There was something unnatural about that darkness.

"I think I can conclude that this is indeed the Relic of Destruction." Jaune finally said but no one replied to him.

They were all too busy staring at the large hole at the ground where he had swung the sword.
