Fu Yangzhu was already so shocked that Lilian Mo had the face to ask the Boss for help but to call the Boss so familiarly really opened his eyes and all the sleepiness he was feeling had vanished into thin air. He was now fully awake!
Mu Qianmo also felt intrigued. 'Little Sister Mo is really fearless.'
Who else dares to call the Boss using the Boss' name?
Mizuki Rei had also heard this and his head whipped back to look in the two people's direction just a few seconds before Mu Qingqing was about to feed him a spoonful of mung bean soup. The spoon collided against his cheek, spilling down his chin.
"Ah, Reirei!" Mu Qingqing said in surprise. She grabbed one of the spare towels and started to wipe the spilled soup from Mizuki Rei's cheek, blowing on it when the skid turned red.
"You need my help?" Lu Jingren unscrewed the bottle of chocolate milk. Lilian Mo stopped him.
"You haven't eaten. Don't drink it when your stomach is still empty. Anyway, please help me chill this peppermint tea. The weather is still hot and drinking this will help everyone's bodies fight against the warm temperature." Lilian Mo said, gesturing to the pitcher with a patient look as she stared at Lu Jingren.
The three boys inhaled as they watched their Boss put away his favorite drink while obediently extending his hand on the pitcher and using his ability to chill the tea. Pretty soon, cold air was surrounding the glass pitcher, mist rising in the air.
The Boss is healed?
They blinked dumbly at this sight.
"Little Rei, shit, is this really the Boss?"
"Yangzhu, watch your mouth."
"Brother Qian, Fu Yangzhu, am I dreaming this?"
"Little Rei, Yangzhu, the Boss isn't a heartless person. Aren't the three of us, all people who received help from the Boss? Don't be so surprised." Mu Qianmo pointed out even though he was also a bit amazed.
"Thank you." Lilian Mo said towards Lu Jingren and went back to distribute the tea to the members. Lu Jingren stared at the space where she used to be before his eyes went to follow her.
Lilian Mo did what she usually did without paying him any mind.
"...not good..." Lu Jingren mumbled under his breath before sitting on the table to eat.
His face remained the same. It was indifferent and expressionless but every action that he did was filled with grace. Whoever said that Lu Jingren was a clueless illegitimate child who has no manners should get their eyes checked!
Lilian Mo spared him one glance and saw his usual composed and elegant way of eating that was even better than the celebrities acting in the movies. She looked away without saying anything. They went back to their usual selves as if nothing happened.
In Lilian Mo's mind, she was wondering what 'not good' meant? Were her actions too familiar and he was displeased about it? Lilian Mo lowered her head and focused on eating, ignoring the others' gazes.
There was nothing wrong with what she did. She asked for help and thanked him in return. This could be considered good instead of 'not good.' She had also warned him about his health.
It was already good progress that she wasn't breaking down infront of her previous life's jailer.
As long as she was able to remind herself that this Lu Jingren's character was different, she was able to remain calm.
Lilian Mo killed Feng Ran because the latter was still the same, in this life or her previous life so she had no problems killing that woman because she would turn into a plague that would ruin many people's lives, the majority being women.
As for Lu Jingren, she would watch him and find out for herself whether he was still the same man. If he tries anything against her, she would be merciless.
Breakfast passed without any incidents. The boys were already close with each other since they were originally friends before the apocalypse and when Lilian Mo was busy, the two girls, Mu Qingqing and Lin Jiaojiao would be together.
Lilian Mo had checked the water system of the hotel and there was still a water reservoir so they all took turns taking a bath while the others were on the lookout.
After a few hours, Lilian Mo was outside and had taken the Marauder out. She was checking the tires and looking for any damages just to make sure that they could ride smoothly towards their destination to the north.
When all is well, she decided that she would hand the keys to Fu Yangzhu but she quickly stopped herself and decided to give it to Mizuki Rei. She almost made a mistake.
Fu Yangzhu was well known for having a collection of cars. The Fu family was one of the powerful families in the Imperial Capital. This rich young master took a hobby in sports racing and had gotten himself in a lot of trouble for speed driving on countless occasions. Despite this, his driving skills are top-notch. Lilian Mo knows this very well since these things came from Fu Yangzhu's own mouth during her past life.
But right now, they weren't close enough for her to know this information.
"Here." Lilian Mo said, handing the keys to Mizuki Rei and quietly getting into the backseat.
"Sister-in-law, let me drive!" Fu Yangzhu whined as he eyed the keys on Mizuki Rei's hand, marveling at the Marauder. He had seen one of these things before but because they did not suit his aesthetics, he had chosen other luxury cars.
"No way, Fu Yangzhu! I don't want to die due to your reckless driving!" Mizuki Rei said as he got inside the driver's seat.
"Tch. Stingy bastard." Fu Yangzhu sulked as he also got inside the Marauder. "Aiyaa, sister-in-law, you can hand the keys to me next time. I definitely won't disappoint."
"My name is Lilian Mo, not sister-in-law." She answered, closing her eyes and missing his awkward expression.
Even in her past life, he was also very cheeky and called her 'sister-in-law.' She didn't correct him when they met since she had gotten used to him calling her like that in her past life. But in this life, she would not be his sister-in-law.
'I've already crossed the bridges. I don't want to get involved with Lu Jingren and his group again but I will endure it for Mu Qingqing though there should still be boundaries.' Lilian Mo won't be able to rest easy if Mu Qingqing left her sight.
Not until she killed the bastards responsible for Mu Qingqing's tragedy in their past life, would she be able to let her hatred for herself go.
'I must also make sure that those scumbags won't ever imprison women ever again. Cutting their third leg is too light of a punishment...' She seethed.
