Fun Place

"The thing from earlier, is it some kind of barrier?"

Lilian Mo looked at Nathan Yang in a cold manner as she shifted, standing in front of the others and blocking his view. Nathan Yang chuckled. He could already tell that the girl was very protective of the others so he didn't push any further.

It was just the fact that he had never seen that kind of ability before. If someone in his team had the same ability, then having a legitimate meat shield that doesn't die to protect them from the enemies' attack wouldn't be a problem.

In an effort to satiate his curiosity, he swiftly threw a knife at Lin Jiaojiao.

Lin Jiaojiao who was so shocked and stressed, erected her barrier out of instinct, her face turning white as a sheet and her hands trembling in fear. The distance between her stomach and the barrier was hardly an inch away, meaning if she had been a little too late, she would have been impaled on the spot!

Fortunately, the knife merely hit the surface of the barrier and bounced off of it, landing on the floor harmlessly. It did not even leave a dent.

Her legs trembled, turning soft like jello, causing her to fall down. She could feel sweat forming on her palms.

"Are you crazy?" A deathly cold voice said.

Lilian Mo lunged towards Nathan Yang, holding a knife towards his neck.

Nathan Yang remained in place without moving even as the blade pressed against his skin, creating a very thin line of wound that started bleeding red.

He knew that it was his fault for being impulsive so he did not resist. He still prioritized his mission. It was only for a moment that he decided to satiate his curiosity and to test how badly Lilian Mo would react to it.

He was no longer surprised when he saw the girl looking at him with murder in her eyes.

"If you wanted to die, you could have said so. I would gladly send you to hell." Lilian Mo's grip on the handle was very tight as if it was taking all of her self-control not to slash down the jugular of the man before her. She noticed that the knife had been aimed quite low and if not for Lin Jiaojiao's barrier, it might have also hit Zhang Youji.

Mu Qinqing was also not happy. "You are not as nice as the vice president."

Nathan Yang smiled when he heard this. He did not look the least bit guilty. "Ah..... Little Zhou is still naive so he's very kind and righteous. I, on the other hand, am not the same as him. I'm glad you know that, little girl."

Lilian Mo pressed the blade further on his neck, making him bleed more. Nathan Yang's smile finally disappeared. In a split second, he disappeared and turned invisible like a phantom in the dark.

Lilian Mo looked around sharply, trying to find his location. Her heightened senses were instantly on high alert.

Nathan Yang appeared behind her like a specter. Lilian Mo whipped around, aiming the tip of the knife to his face with blinding speed. Nathan Yang dodged with ease and stopped her wrist, twisting it and disarming her.

The knife dropped, followed by a clang.

Lilian Mo was not fazed with the loss of her weapon, instead, she lunged forward, throwing her bare fist to his face.

Nathan Yang was astounded as he blocked. "You keep aiming at my face. Do you have a problem with it?"

"It's annoying." Lilian Mo answered. She raised her leg, kicking him in the gut. Nathan Yang also went to block that but his eyes widened comically as he felt the immerse strength behind the kick. It was as if a car had slammed into him.

He smashed on the wall harshly, the impact knocking the air out of his lungs and causing his vision to go a little blurry.

Still aware of the hostile intentions, he immediately tried to stand up and turn invisible but a strong force knocked him on the floor and with a 'Bam,' someone stepped roughly on his chest. Nathan Yang groaned. It was as if a heavy boulder was trying to crush him to the floor. Breathing suddenly felt thrice as difficult.

He looked up and saw the cold gaze of Lilian Mo. Nathan Yang knew at this instant that she was no simple girl. Many people possessed formidable fighting power but only a few would fight without fear or hesitation for anything.

Lilian Mo was like that. Nathan Yang has seen and met a lot of people in his field of work. He recognized if a person has killed someone or not because there would be that fearless look in their eyes.

Other people were sometimes nervous or filled with guilt but only a fighter would look at him with fearlessness as if she was ready to brave the storm without any thoughts about dying or living.

Before the apocalypse, Nathan Yang only saw this kind of people among his colleagues or the targets he was given, sometimes from his clients. When the apocalypse happened, he found that those kinds of people became common, so common that he even met one in the form of a sixteen-year-old girl.

"Hah." The world has really become a fun place.
