"Wayside Inn huh?"
Alex opened his eyes before closing them to take in the situation. He was just asleep in his room thinking about the slippery sensation of fischerans when he suddenly was transported here. How could this have happened? He can also see after re-opening his eyes for the second time that he was encased in a blue bubble, which he came to know was called a force-field, to keep players in Rogue Lineage from spawn camping. He also noticed after looking at his hands that there was a number 3 on the palm of it, marking his life count, Alex guessed. On the other palm of his hand was the number 0, marking his day count. In Rogue Lineage, 1 hour IRL (In real life) was 1 day in-game. Alex thought this wouldn't be the case anymore since he no longer was playing Rogue Lineage from a computer screen. The final thing he noticed before jumping out of the bed he was lying in was that his skin was a very thin shade of yellow, meaning he was a Haselden, the most common race in Rogue Lineage.
"Of all 16 races, I had to be the most common..."
Alex sighed and once again took in his surroundings. In Wayside Inn, there are 2 floors. The bottom floor is where a doctor resides, a bartender, and someone that plays the guitar. There is also the person that asks whether you want to set your spawn point at Wayside Inn. Alex was in one of the many rooms on the top floor where the player would spawn if they set their reset point here. Alex went to look in the mirror that was seated on the table and checked his appearance.
"Yup, Dark brown hair, and eyes..."
Other than that, he also saw he wore a green leather tunic, leather pants, a belt around his waist, and brown boots. This article of clothing that he was given symbolized he was what Rogue Lineage players would call a "fresh spawn", someone with no progression towards their class. This was of no surprise to Alex, as he walked out of his room, closing the door behind him, before making his way past the rooms and down the stairs into the bar. The bar consisted of several tables and chairs spread about it, with a fireplace to the side. The bartender was seated behind a long raised narrow table or bench where he dispensed drinks. Alex knew that he not only did this but served a special kind of drink called vint, which if drunk by a vampire, would increase their hunger bar slightly. A vampire is a disease in Rogue Lineage that can only be attained by picking up a "Bloodthorn", which would infect the player, deriving their ability to eat normal food, instead seeking out players' blood to sate their hunger. Their eyes would also turn red, and their skin pale.
Alex noticed other people of different races ranging from the common Rigan to the incredibly rare Dzin seated around these tables drinking what looked like a type of mead. This puzzled Alex because there was no such mechanic in Rogue Lineage that the character could order drinks from the bartender, much less even sit down. In-game, if you were to talk to the bartender, asking for vint, he would respond with "You couldn't handle it.", thus ending the conversation. Alex decided to test this and walked over to one of the stools seated in front of the long raised table where the bartender was and thus tried to engage him in a conversation.
