Usurping the Coronation

Erick ported through and looked at the room with barely concealed impatience.  It was going to take forever to get this room to look the way he wanted so as to please his soul-bonded woman.

His soul-bonded woman.

The sound and feel of those words made Erick smile a goofy little smile. 

Ever since their mental-soul-bond day, he had gleefully shaken his bracelet at anyone who even looked half-awake in boastful pride. 

It was his treasure. 

It signified that he was not wandering this world alone.  It meant that he was deeply connected to a person who was of utmost importance to him. 

Never mind the fact that in this lifetime, she would never truly be his.  It was enough for him to know that he loved her.

Ownership was never the point of love anyhow.

"Your Majesty."  His aides were trooping into what Erick now called Mira's room.  "It is time."

Erick said nothing.  What was there to say?
