A last-minute plan.

A rustle of a moving bush caught Derick and Alice's attention.

When they looked where the noise was coming from, their happy countenances instantly changed.

"Shit!" Alice and Derick spoke at the same time.

There in that small bush was a small goblin, he was approximately 60 centimeters (1' 11.62") tall.

He was with his eyes half closed and with a small smile, it was as if he had just woken up from a long and good dream, but when he looked at those two humans and saw what was on their feet, his look changed from tranquil to angry.

Those terrible humans, once again had killed a relative of his.

Even though that monster was 10 times weaker than the goblin they just fought, it was too far away for Derick and Alice to do anything about.

"Derick, it's my fault I put you in danger!" Alice looked at Derick and she resented not listening to him "I'm going to use my "Absolute Defense" skill and I'm going to draw the goblin to me. Take advantage of it and run away."

"Alice!" Derick put his right hand on Alice's shoulder "If I ran away and left you here alone, I won't be able to live my life in peace."

After speaking this Derick looked into Alice's eyes and saw that a small tear came out of her eyes.

"All right!" Alice took a deep breath "What do we do now?"

"So..." Derick spoke.

They had a few seconds to make a strategy to get them out of this difficult situation. Their lives depended on it.

The inevitable happened, the goblin looked up to the sky and with hatred shouted in an unknown language.

The scream echoed through the forest. For a brief moment the only sound that could be heard in the forest, was a leaf falling to the ground.

After a few seconds, the scream was answered.

Dozens of footsteps were heard coming to his rescue.

"Wait, that noise is not coming from above" Derick noticed something strange and commented.

He thought for a moment and Alice also had the same thought. They looked at each other and saw that the situation was much worse than they imagined.

Alice was not wrong in saying that there was nowhere for them to hide on the surface. But who said there was no place underground?

It turned out that the situation they were in was worse than they imagined, Derick and Alice were standing on top of a nest of Goblins.

The only thing they could do was pray that it was a small nest. And even if it was the case, it would be very difficult enough to survive it.

"It doesn't matter." Derick looked at the goblins "Let's get on with the plan!"

They couldn't run away anyway; from the moment they turned their backs on their enemies they would be easy targets.

The goblins didn't just have knives and swords as weapons, they had long range weapons and although they didn't have very good accuracy, it didn't matter since it would be dozens of goblins shooting.
