"Guys can you shut up and stop fucking drinking, I don't want to smell it, I'm also in this car believe it or not."

Beth was yelling at a drunk Nathaniel and Becca

"We have been in this car for an hour, we still have seven more hours to go and some of us can't and won't deal with this..."

"Well love maybe you shouldn't be such a prude."

The rest replied

Beth excitedly yelled, then she proceeded to down half a bottle. Everyone was in shock. No one, not even Daniel, had ever seen her ever drink this much at once.

"Can someone turn up the radio this is my favorite song"

Becca screamed up front

"Becca"

Beth turned around to face Becca

"This is my favorite song too!"

While Sage turned up the music, Becca and Beth were screaming off the top of their lungs. Nathaniel was drinking even more to drown out the singing. Sage's head was moving closer to Melania's so that they could hear and understand each other. Quinn was rolling their eyes secretly wishing they could drink so that they could be as carefree as Beth and Becca looked, instead of drinking as she was talking with Daniel, they both wished to drink but they both had problems or issues where they both couldn't drink.

Beth's smile turned into a frown

"The song is over, noooo!"

Beth cried, tears were starting to form

"Oh god, I'm crying. Melania, Melania can you stop by the nearest bathroom"

Melania looked in the rear view window, then looked at Sagee and they both burst out laughing.

Melania laughed, she then saw the bathroom sign so they drove over and Beth ran out of the car and to the bathroom.

"Fuck!"

The group heard her scream from the bathroom.

"I'll deal with it"

Quinn volunteered. Becca gave Quinn a bag and Quinn left the car and knocked on the bathroom door where Beth was inside.

"Beth, I have tampons and pads!"

Quinn called from outside.

"Thanks Quinn you're a lifesaver, wait I'll open the door a bit and hand me the pads."

Beth thanked. The door unlocked and it opened a crack. Beth's hand stuck out and Quinn passed her a pad. Quinn waited outside for Beth to be ready. Beth stumbled back to the car and Quinn made sure she didn't fall.

"So we're all good, cause I'm trying to get to Cortez in record time?"

Melania asked back.

"We're all good!"

Quinn answered for the group

"Wait, I want to sit next to Beth, Nathaniel, you're up front now."

Becca quickly said.

"Come on Becca I thought we wanted to drink together."

Nathaniel groaned

"But fine Quinn looks like you need to sit next to me"

Nathaniel told Beth to get out of her seat, so that they could switch. Beth and Becca started drinking again. Quinn looked over to Nathaniel.

"For the fact that you drunk so much you don't seem as drunk as those two."

Quinn mentioned while pointing to the back.

"Becca drank less than me and Beth is a lightweight."

Nathaniel answered

"What happened between you and Beth, you're always fighting but I kinda heard what Beth said to you, you guys seem to know a lot about each other?"

Quinn asked

"You don't need to tell me, I just find it interesting how you guys act around each other."

"You know you're very trustworthy and I can't believe I am telling you this. I hated the friend group we were in, but the last straw was when my grandad died. He died in a car crash and on that day I was with them and I found out, we were like an hour away with Sophia's parents. And I got the call that he was in the hospital. I told Beth about him and she said: 'we'll ask Sophia's parents to drive you home or for you to get a taxi.' I went to ask but everyone had found out at this point. I don't even know how they know. They told me to stay, and then the parents said I couldn't go. Cause of the long drive. So for the rest of the day I just sat there. The next day we were at school and I decided to stop hanging out with them. Beth and I were hanging out that day and she asked me what happened that day. I told her, we got into a huge fight. I may have told her she should kill herself. She insulted my grandmother. We haven't talked about it since and we've only been I guess mean to each other. And the next day at school she completely ignored me and when I tried to apologise just showed me the middle finger. I can't believe I told you this."

Nathaniel told Quinn his side of the story.

"So what are we going to do after Cortez, where to next?"

"Oh there's a place called Liberal in Kansas that's 24 hours away from New Hope. So if we go tomorrow to Liberal. We can refill and get lots of food and then I guess we have a day ride where we will switch out drivers."

Nathaniel told the group

"Wait shhh, the radio is talking about us."

Sage screamed while turning up the radio for everyone to hear.

Daniel hoped

"License plates are connected to cars so they will figure out the car is a Tesla."

Melania informed Daniel

"How long do we have left of the car ride?"

Quinn asked

"Ohh ummm four hours"

Melania looked over to the navigation system to answer Quinn's sentence.

"I'm tired I'm going to sleep"

Daniel told the group, and he dozed off alongside Nathaniel and Quinn. Melania went to keeping her eyes on the road while talking to Sage.

"You know Chad?"

"Of course I do Becca, he's my ex"

"Right so he was at my party yesterday and he was dancing with Jessi, they got together again ."

"Chad? Oh that fucker."

"Right like Chad is an asshole, and Jessi deserves so much more."

"I don't even like her, but Chad is an abusive piece of shit. I'm guessing she was wearing long sleeves and lots of makeup on her neck and face."

"He's my ex, I was with him for almost two years. I just broke up with him over the summer."

Becca yelled in Nathaniel's ear

"Melania could you please stop"

Becca asked her and Melania got to a halt. Becca and Nathaniel swapped. Becca and Quinn started whispering about something as Melania got the car starting again.

"God I'm just so enthusiastic to have you next to me, I could faint."

Beth said with a straight face. Then a yawn came across her and her head got heavier. Her eyelids were harder and harder to keep open. Then her head fell and a sleep rushed over her. Her head landed on the shoulder of Nathaniel. Seconds later Nathaniel's head fell on top of Beths and he too fell asleep.

Becca and Quinn turned around and both smiled and gave each other a high-five.

The next three hours Beth and Nathaniel slept, Daniel as well. Becca and Quinn were whispering about something. Sage and Melania talked while Melania drove.

"Everyone who's asleep wake up, we have made it to Cortez."

Melania screamed.

"What the hell why was I sleeping on you."

A surprised Beth screamed

"You fell asleep on me love. I'm too nice to push you off"

"I'm dying you nice, sorry"

Beth laughed

"Shit, my pad. Melania get to the motel as fast as you can."
