"Ok, these beds are officially the most uncomfortable things in the world"

Daniel groaned

"Yeah, so uncomfy"

Nathaniel stretched his neck

"Please ask Elizabeth to get new beds"

"Yeah once she gets home. So what do you want to do today"

"Shopping"

"Umm maybe"

"Sorry I guess I'm so used to shopping, so what about...I've got no more idea, honestly shopping is the only thing that comes to mind, I've been to New York enough times to not go sightseeing"

"Same, you know shopping doesn't sound that bad, we'll just wear like hats and sunglasses"

Nathaniel agreed and so they both put on their shoes before heading out

"So what do you want, cause I would love new airpods. Maybe some clothes"

Daniel announced

"Yeah I wouldn't mind new clothes other than that I have no idea what I would want"

Nathaniel agreed

"So have you been talking to the others?"

Nathaniel asked

"Yeah I was texting with Becca this morning and Sage and Melania are going out together somewhere and yesterday Quinn had a breakdown. Nothing much has happened ohh yeah Becca said that Beth ate more than she normally eats so that's good"

Daniel started

"Well good for her"

Nathaniel interrupted

"They were also talking about the probability of us coming back, Beth started to scream and rant about you. But they agreed that I was most likely to come back but if one of us were to come back the other would come back. Apparently Sage baked a cake and Melania broke it or something like that and Sage flipped out cause she spent so long on it."

Daniel finished

"Would pay to see that, so how much money do we have?"

Nathaniel laughed

"Well we have Elizabeth's card so I don't know, so I guess. I mean she did give you the card"

"Well I'm fine with that, I'll just text her and tell her so she has a head up"

Nathaniel got out his phone and texted Elizabeth, they walked until they arrived at the apple store. They both walked in, got AirPods paid and left. For the next five hours the boys walked up 5th Avenue and went into many different stores to buy things, some stuff they brought were from Elizabeth's card others they brought with their own money. They were talking the whole time, laughing and smiling. They had a lot of fun. When they eventually made it back to Elizabeth's place they brought all the bags into Daniel's room. They watched TV for the rest of the night waiting for Elizabeth to come home. But she never did, so at 8pm Nathaniel decided to text her and then he started to cook as they were hungry.

"Has she replied"

Daniel asked Nathaniel sitting on chairs watching Nathaniel try to cook.

"No, she hasn't even seen seen the text I sent her at noon"

"Ok, something is wrong. I feel it in my bones something bad is going to happen"

"You're just overreacting Daniel, I'm sure everything is fine. Maybe she's with a friend or over working. And the not replying is probably that her phone is out of battery. There's a reasonable explanation, we'll just wait"

And so they waited. They ate dinner, they watched TV till 11pm, when they both decided it was time to go to bed. Nathaniel went immediately to sleep but Daniel stayed awake. He didn't like Elizabeth but he was still worried. He stayed laying in bed awake thinking about all the things that could have happened.

"Maybe she was kidnapped, maybe she's injured, what happens if she's dead, maybe she's getting drugged. She could be anywhere. Why am I even worrying I'm sure nothing is wrong, right. Everything is ok, everything is ok. Ok nothing is ok. I don't think I can sleep. I'm just going to sit outside and maybe watch a bit of TV."

Daniel whispered to himself before hopping out of bed. He put on a robe and walked to the couch and turned on the TV to a low volume, immediately the news came on:

"Hello we have new updates on the seven teens missing case..."

Daniel changed channels

"No, I'm not watching this is probably some stupid shit like more blood from Nathaniel was found or some other random shit. I am not deal with that"

He put on a random channel before his phone beeped

'Hey Alexander, I was wondering where you are I haven't seen you at work in the past few days'

Francis texted

'I've been in New York for the past few days, I've kinda moved for the next while so I won't be at work for the next while. I also quit because I'm in New York'

'Oh ok, I'm going to miss our lunch breaks'

'Yeah, I miss it already. If I come back we definitely need to meet up, cause I'm definitely coming back'

'Yes, we need to do that. So how's The Big Apple?'

'It's nice, I haven't seen a lot but its super nice so far and I really enjoy it'

'So why did you decide to move'

'Well Aurora my roommate, had an argument, a huge argument with Charles. And he has a friend in New York so he was going to stay with her and then I said I would come with him and so here I am. So why are you awake at 1am'

'Why r u awake at 1am'

'Well the friend isn't coming home so I'm staying awake to see if she comes home, you?'

'I was wondering if everything was ok with you and I didn't want to text'

'Thanks🥰 that's sweet. But I'm fine'

'Good, that's all I wanted to hear'

'So how's work'

'Well we got a new worker yesterday, she's not the nicest but she's fine. Definitely not as good as you, she's got a very forgettable name. But she's super pretty, and she's always telling us stories about her childhood and her parents and her travels, which is entertaining'

'That's good'

'Have you heard the new updates from the seven missing teens case'

'I heard about it on the news'

'Well there was an update. So someone had an anonymous tip that they think they saw them somewhere, so the police are doing a bit of research and getting ready to go there. But the police haven't said where it is, and they will release more later once they have done a bit'

'Oh that's good'

While Daniel was waiting for Francis to respond he took a deep breath

"They probably haven't found us"

He thought

'Yeah I've been keeping up with the news about this thing because I want to know, but if they are together my whole theory is wrong that they split up'

Francis texted

'Yeah, I don't know because they have gotten so many tips. Who's to say this one is the correct one. Plus I think your theory makes the most sense'

'Ph thanks but I really think they found them. From what they are saying and doing makes it seem like they actually found them'

'Well I hope they found them. But don't you think that maybe they left for a reason'

'Yeah I do. But they I guess they broke out of a jail cell and that's you know punishable by law'

'I would've just left them alone I mean they wanted to leave from what I've seen and heard'

'Yeah but maybe they got kidnapped the police are just trying to make sure they are ok'

'Well they could have said that, asked the people to call or text them saying they are ok, they didn't need to do that'

'Yes they did it's their job, why are you being so defensive'

'Well I just think the police are doing some questionable things. Anyway this is getting heated and maybe we should stop talking about this because otherwise it's going to blow out of proportion'

'Ok well I'm going to go to bed, so goodnight'

'Night'

Daniel put his phone down and continued watching TV before he fell asleep in front of the TV. The next morning Nathaniel walked out of the room seeing Daniel sleep on the couch with the TV still running. He went over to Daniel and tried to find the remote before turning off the tv. Nathaniel turned to the kitchen and started to make breakfast. While Nathaniel was making breakfast Daniel woke up

"Did Elizabeth come home"

Daniel yawned

"No, she didn't"

Nathaniel replied

"Breakfast?"

Nathaniel asked. Daniel nodded and then turned on the radio. Music started to play as Nathaniel and Daniel chatted.

"Hello fellow listeners we have news on the seven teens, they have realized where they think the kids are and the police are now on their way there. New Hope Pennsylvania is where they are believed to be..."

He went on but the world stopped for Nathaniel and Daniel. Nathaniel who was carrying a plate dropped it, the plate fell slowly and it hit the floor, smaller pieces of plate flew everywhere. Nathaniel's foot was hit. They were in shook, Nathaniel ran to his room and packed everything he could find.

"Nathaniel we can't go, here we are safe"

Daniel screamed but Nathaniel couldn't hear him, he was just in his own world.

"We have to go Daniel, we are all in this together, please I, we need to"

Nathaniel cried

"Nathaniel..."

Daniel started but Nathaniel burst into tears

"Please Daniel, we need to go back. Elizabeth's car is outside we'll use that, you can stay but I'm going"

He cried. Daniel sighed and went into his room and packed a few things before they both headed to Elizabeth's car. Nathaniel stepped on the pedal and raced out of the city, his view was blinded by tears. Daniel was scared for his life sitting in the back of his seat. He was trying to calm down Nathaniel but it wasn't working. Nathaniel was blinded by whatever made him mad or sad or whatever was forcing him into doing this. Daniel tried to text Becca but she wasn't responding. It was 5am. After a bit under an hour of speeding. Nathaniel raced to the house where the police weren't there. He smashed the door down and ran into.

"What the hell are you doing here, and why did you break down the door"

Beth yelled

"Have you checked the news, please tell me you have"

Nathaniel pleaded

"Nooooo? Why should I"

Beth asked, Daniel who had been following Nathaniel ran over to Becca who he hugged real quick

"Because if you had you would have known I would come"

Alyssa smiled, walking through the door with her gun drawn. No other police officer was in sight.

"Shit"

Beth yelled. Sage, Melania and Quinn were all up in their rooms and they heard the commotion so they slowly walked down.

"Quick question who was the anonymous tip"

Daniel asked in the back

"Ugh some girl called Elizabeth"

Alyssa thought for a moment before answering

"I knew something was wrong with her"

Beth smiled and applauded herself

"Ok so now that we've had this you guys need to come with me"

Alyssa asked

"No please, can you please just let us. Say you didn't find us. Please"

Beth pleaded

"Sorry I can't do that, this is the one thing that will make my dad proud and I will make him proud so No I can't do that"

Alyssa snarled

"Ok you know what if you guys won't listen I will start to use violence"

Alyssa continued

"Can't you just leave us alone we didn't do anything, well kinda but nothing criminal enough for us to be going to jail"

Becca laughed

"Of course you did you escaped a police station"

"We didn't break anything we just used your resources"

Becca corrected

"Ok you know what, I'm sick and tired of your guys talking it's time for you to actually listen to me"

Alyssa aimed her gun at Nathaniel and shot it. Beth screamed and ran in front of Nathaniel.

"OMG"

Quinn screamed

"What did I just do"

The reality hit Alyssa, she burst out

"Omg I'm sorry I'm so sorry"

She cried

"Just leave. Just leave, tell them you didn't find us"

Daniel yelled. Everyone was in shock they were screaming and Nathaniel held Beth in his arms. Beth was unconscious and just laid there. Daniel called the ambulance. Tears were flooding the floor, blood as well. They couldn't see where Beth was shoot but they tried their hardest to stop the bleeding. Nathaniel ripped his shirt off and wrapped it around Beth's body. They all crowded around Beth, wishing something else had happened. The world had stopped for all of them.
