Chapter 2 Part 1

On that day all I could hear was the rain, the clouds looked dark and scary but I've always loved the rain, it was warm and I liked how it felt when it soaks my hair but on that day it felt cold.

That was how it felt at my mother's funeral, "Ma~maa~.." hugging my sister as her head was nestled in my chest and crying into my suit her voice muffled, so many adults were gathered around the casket, some crying and some avoiding my eyes whenever they noticed I was looking at them while giving me a sad look as they turn their heads away.

At the time I didn't know why but I didn't like it, the warm and calm rain felt so heavy and cold. my chest felt tight, I could barely make a sound as they finally lowered her in the ground as dad stood there, his eyes glued on her being covered by dirt as the men with shovels started burying her, I needed to get my sister way from here but I didn't want to leave him so I finally spoke up, "dad.." I called out to him while tugging at his sleeve, "dad, please..." Nearing my limit I tugged harder and harder to get his attention only for him to smack my hand away, it hurt in a way I've never felt before, I've always had cuts and bruises from training but they've never hurt this much.

The pain and frustration hit me all at once, the sound of thunder and the heavy rain mixed with the sound coming out of my mouth as I cried, but dad didn't even look my way. So I ran while wiping away the tears, I kept running without looking were to, "LOUIS!!" only to hear my sister scream my name, before I realized it I was in the hospital.

"Lo.." what do you wa~nt?... "Louis, wake up dude!" Leave me.. alone, "dude the teachers calling you" damn I'm still sleepy, then out of nowhere a loud sound hits me suddenly as a heavy looking book was smacked down onto my desk, making me jump off my chair as this normal looking man that's our classes homeroom teacher shot me a serious glare, "meet me in my office later Mr. Jazz" well shit, this is not what I thought my first day would be like damn it..

"I just wanted to rest for a bit but now I've gotta go meet Mr. Kendric", our class totals 34 student's and one HR teacher which was the largest class in the academy with over half being foreigners, each with their own unique talents and at the top are the representatives of each class chosen from among the new students during orientation with the strongest being Aries and Harper our classes representatives.

Our male rep Aries was both confident and outspoken, his white hair and blue eyes made him the center of attention especially when it came to the girls but was also a hothead which annoyed some of the guys me included but then again he is one of the strongest of the first years and combined with his personality he could be a great leader, probably.

Then there's Harper, as a musical prodigy it wasn't surprising that she got first place in the placement exam for representatives, she's a genius and from what I've heard she almost as strong as Aries and not as impulsive, her short black hair and eyes were beautiful to the point that I didn't notice I was just staring at her, I just hope she doesn't think I'm weird like that.

"Hey there newbie" speak of the devil "you need to stay focused during class, it's disrespectful to Mr. Kendric you know" I didn't really mean to but I guess he has a point "sorry about that, I just didn't get much sleep is all" no point in causing more trouble for myself "I'll try to do better next time" he looks somewhat displeased but I can't really blame him, so let's just give him a smile and it'll be over soon "fine. just see to it that it doesn't happen again" I'm glad I got past this "right, thank you"

A few minutes after the conversation between Aries and me the bell rang signalling the end of class and even though I was happy that it ended, I didn't really have the time to enjoy it seeing as I needed to get meet Mr. Kendric, as I walked down the bustling hallway filled with both students and teachers I noticed that the badges on their shoulders where different from one another, after orientation every first year was given a blank badge with the guys getting a black one and the girls a white one with the only explanation we got was that it'll make sense tomorrow morning.

As I finally reached Mr. Kendric's office I could hear that he had someone else with him, after knocking I opened door to find dad with Mr. Kendric both sitting opposite each other with papers all over the table in between them.

"Hey old man, Why the hell didn't you come home yesterday!" Walking in to the office I went straight to dad "Lilith was worried about you damn it, you could have at least shown up for dinner" I was tried and angry with the way he treated Lilith "don't talk to me like that you brat, no matter what I'm still your father, show some respect!" Just hearing him say that made me want to punch him in the face "some father you are" I put the bag Lilith prepared for him on the floor "your lucky Lilith still cares about you" I shot him a glare as I walked out.

"what did you do for him to act like that towards you?" He looked both upset and disappointed, I really want to know why "not surprising really, it's my fault to begin with since I was the one who almost killed him"
