Chapter 2 Part 2 - The Wind

When I opened my eyes, what greeted me was the white ceiling of a hospital room and that irritating sterile smell, as I tried to get up a searing pain shot up my right side forcing me back down screaming, moments later a nurse rushed in to find me struggling to get up.

The suddenness of the pain made me feel somewhat dizzy "Where am I? Who are you? And Where's my sister?!" I didn't care about what happened to me but my sister, she the one person on my mind keeping me conscious "calm down kid, both your sister and dad are doing fine, they went back home to rest a few hours ago actually" after hearing what he said, the pain from my right side was too much for me to handle, the exhausting and pain took it's a toll on me then I passed out.

"Stupid old man" walking down the hall all I could feel was irritation from seeing him, I'm honestly reaching my limits but it's not up to me is it "why do you still care about him" I did what could calm myself down as I reach my classroom only to notice Jack leaving "where are you headed?" A bit confused as to why he was such a beaming smile "oh you haven't heard already?" Answering my question with a question kinda ticked me off, so I asked again "seriously Don't we have class right now?" I pushed the point but the answer I got wasn't I thought.

We passed many students on our way to the Gymnasium but none had any badges on their uniforms making them first years but what I wanted to know was, what was the significance of the badges.

Whilst deep in thought, I failed to notice that we've arrived and so we took our seats with everyone else there. When the combat instructor walks into the field the students started talking among themselves focusing on her and the weapons she had, many small knifes levitating close to her body and behind her were our classes representatives carrying an unusual device "alright quiet down everyone, my name is Amber and I'll be your combat instructor for the next two years" while introducing herself she then starts explaining the training curriculum and what we were going to do "I'm sure all of you are prepared for this seeing as many here have had prior training and experiences but this is a new chapter in your lives"

after finishing her speech she then pulled our attention to a few targets in the center of the field and gestured to Aries telling him something than taking a couple of steps back "okay listen up everyone I want you all to pay attention to what Aries is about to demonstrate and with that said the Gymnasium falls silent with the only sound being that of the wind, getting louder and fast-moving towards him as he pulled out a bow from the bag on the ground next to him but no arrows.

We were all confused as to what he was about to do with just a bow only to see the wind gathering behind him forming the shape of wings. As he pulls back the bowstring some of the wind on his back gathered around it, then releasing the string launching the wind and piercing the target dead center.

"Well done Aries, as you've just seen your previous training won't be wasted but used as the foundation for new abilities you'll be cultivating in this academy for the next two years" it was unexpected but not shocking as the instructor herself had that knife's around her "now this looks like fun" I was too focused on my thoughts to notice Jack trying to get my attention "yo dude you with me?" With everyone else around us voicing their shock and excitement all I thought about was, maybe with that kind of power I'll be able to protect her.
