He watched her while she slept, as night gave way to dawn, a start of a new day. And as he looked at her, he weighed the choices that were laid before him.

He had already brought so much misfortune to her, she could any differently, but he knew better. Before him, she only had the anxiety that came from time to time with her life with Callum. And that was all of it. But then he came into town, brought his ghosts with him, brought those ghosts into her life and he couldn't take it all away, he could take back his options. And God knew, he didn't regret them enough, because all of that meant he got to be loved by a woman as precious as Aine O'Connell.
