"Well, it's a matter of perspective." She sighs. "I know we're not exactly on friendly terms, but refrain from raising your hands against my boyfriend."
Jonah sighs and steps back.
"Please excuse us Avery."
Thinking she'll sulk and complain, I smirk at the dismissal.
She, however, nods and leaves with a smile.
"Tequila, I really liked you. I did. We just grew up and suddenly, I had other interests and you still wanted to talk about the shade of lipstick some random girl was wearing."
"Why are we having this conversation now? And don't judge my interests!"
"Because I want you to let go. Of the hurt, of the memories. Everything. I love Avery, Tequila. I know that doesn't justify cheating on you with her, but I made that mistake and I swear, I hate myself for doing that to you. I can't change the past, else I would've gone about it differently. I really hope you'll learn to forgive me."
My glare does not relent and he finally sighs.
