Chapter 26

Grateful yet curious

The month was almost over and Tamina felt like her clock ran faster. By that time, both Yusuf and she had become good friends. Yusuf volunteered to go fetch water instead of Nasith with Tamina and since he was not alone, Nasith agreed to it. On their way, they talked a lot, about almost all the things in the world. Those were the times when Tamina felt content in her life. Her son was there, next to her, sharing all his worries and views of the world.

‘You are from Belgarath, right?’ Arham asked suddenly.

‘Yes, why would you ask?’ Tamina asked, surprised by her son’s unexpected question.

‘I know someone from there, Uncle Kaidhan. He was the one who brought me to my parents.’ Arham said.

‘Ohh...’ Tamina was confused. She didn’t know what happened to Arham after she had hidden him in a barrel or how her son ended up in Bayadar.

‘You know that I am adopted, right?’ Arham asked seeing a confused Tamina.
