CHAPTER LXIV: A Knock on the Barricades

"You were being stalked?!"

"Yeah."

"And you don't even find that troubling?"

"Nah."

"Just…" He let out a frustrated breath. "Just what am I gonna do with you?"

I placed my hand under my chin and shrugged, "Nothing?"

He slumped on his seat and mumbled incomprehensibly.

But I could guess the number of swear words that were squeezed in there somewhere.

"So, when did it start, Dia?"

"Hmm, if I were to count when it got worse...maybe just when Ross and I started to date?"

"But, couldn't you tell when it started?"

"That depends."

Solar tilted her head as she stared at me, "Um, you're confusing me."

I clasped my hands together and set them down on the table.

"It depends on who the culprit is," I stated.

Forden tapped his fingers as he thoughtfully interpreted what I just said.

And without waiting any further, he stopped his tapping and nodded, "I take it that you know who it is?"

"I don't want to mindlessly point fingers."
