From ancient times, there existed businesses that sold wishes if the customer paid the right price. It didn't matter if the wisher was human or not. For more reasons than one, the current wish granted Xiao finds it is difficult to not get lost in the mysteries of his job and the world around him. There is discord brewing all around him.

And, as the water thickens, so does the stakes for everyone involved. Magic might turn out to be not so magical after all as their worlds collide in his view. Not to mention, their latest acquaintance seems a little sketchy. 

And the dreams that haunt one's subconsciousness make everything much more complicated.

The Business of Wishes

Dinner was a solemn affair with neither parties wanting to contribute to the conversation. There was an overall awkward silence all over the place. However, the eyes of everyone present in the time were sharp and taking in every detail of the affair. 


There was no bound of trust, just one of mutual benefit which could snap anytime one decided to persuade their interest. 


“Let’s get down to business. What would you like us to do?” Xiao decided to drop the bomb straight away. The female gave him what was an almost glare before she focused on her food. 


There was nothing wrong with the food per se but none of the trees could enjoy the delicacy with full attention. They were far too busy to pay attention around them. 


“Isn’t it obvious? I want out of this cursed existence and if possible, save those lives too” It was said in such a matter of fact tone that Xiao was taken back. Did the woman really expect him to know of her wish?
