From ancient times, there existed businesses that sold wishes if the customer paid the right price. It didn't matter if the wisher was human or not. For more reasons than one, the current wish granted Xiao finds it is difficult to not get lost in the mysteries of his job and the world around him. There is discord brewing all around him.

And, as the water thickens, so does the stakes for everyone involved. Magic might turn out to be not so magical after all as their worlds collide in his view. Not to mention, their latest acquaintance seems a little sketchy. 

And the dreams that haunt one's subconsciousness make everything much more complicated.

The Business of Wishes

There was smoke in his lungs which made breathing difficult. They almost burned with the hot smoke entering them. 


But that was not the only thing that was difficult for Xiao. Due to the explosion, there was a clear lack of visibility in the vicinity. Smoke had begun to settle down on the window and no amount of wiping could deal with the ever replenishing smoke. 


“The people inside” Azurl shouted when she came around to the shock. Without waiting for anyone else to respond to her panic, she opened the door of the car and ran out. 


“Wait, we don’t know the layout” Kei called back after her but the woman was long gone. Lost to the smoke which had a faint sweet smell to it. It smelled like cotton candy smoke which was quickly getting to his head. 


It made his head swim which was not a good sign. The smoke had something mixed inside it. Xiao tried to extend his senses across it but much to his dismay, there was no response.
