From ancient times, there existed businesses that sold wishes if the customer paid the right price. It didn't matter if the wisher was human or not. For more reasons than one, the current wish granted Xiao finds it is difficult to not get lost in the mysteries of his job and the world around him. There is discord brewing all around him.

And, as the water thickens, so does the stakes for everyone involved. Magic might turn out to be not so magical after all as their worlds collide in his view. Not to mention, their latest acquaintance seems a little sketchy. 

And the dreams that haunt one's subconsciousness make everything much more complicated.

The Business of Wishes

“The books, right the books. I really want to give them to you but there is a small problem with that currently” Kei was not looking at him and that made Xiao suspicious. Was there a problem with those books? 


“Kei, please tell me what the problem is. It’s important that I know about it” Xiao almost pleaded with the other, his tone slipping into a begging wine and the other seemed to cave in. 


“I did find the books alright, but I was not able to get them physically. I didn’t want to disappoint you but I ended up doing so anyway” the other looked not happy and Xiao felt himself sigh. Really, the other was taking up too much burden for him already. 


“You found them right? It’s enough for now then. Can you at least tell me their location?” Xiao asked and he actually had to keep his voice a little quieter than he would have liked. Somehow the delicate atmosphere that had settled in on the both of them had not disappeared at all.
