Chapter 20-A Good Start

Much later in the evening while the guests were partying outside her father’s house, Tolani was changing her cloths while her bridesmaids were helping her pack her load in readiness for the trip to her husband’s house, she couldn’t help expressing her observations about the one-sided preaching to her sister. Kanyinsola who had always been the closest person to Tolani was her chief-bridesmaid. Luckily for both of them Kanyinsola had also gained admission to study architecture at the University of Ibadan and was now in 200levels.

“I wonder why the preaching at weddings is always about the need for a woman to submit, keep her home and forgive her husband. Why doesn’t anyone ever preach about what a man should or shouldn’t do?”

“I don’t know either, but I know that’s how it always is at weddings.” Kanyinsola said.
