The Mythical City

McPherson was in his tent concentrated on his notebook and his satellite phone, trying to give tranquilizing explanations to his sponsors of Yale, a difficult task since he had few arguments to offer. The news of the explosion of a military helicopter in Peru a couple of miles from the main camp of the archeologists had traveled the world, enhanced by the expectation that the expedition had created with the still diffuse news that they would be close to a finding of importance. 


Miguel got into the tent and waited a few moments until his presence was noticed. 


“Puff, they are all very nervous and asked me to evacuate the camp and bring the members to a safe place until the Government ensures the tranquility in the area. But you came here for something else. Tell me Miguel.” 


“ The new military Chief that will replace the one coming in the fallen helicopter has arrived. He has asked to meet you.”
