CHAPTER 18

Ogawa took its statutory gun in his left hand and a knife on the right, and waited for the onslaught of attackers in the middle of the smoke. He knew that this was his last move, and was prepared to play it in an honorable way. His grandfather had been captain of the Japanese army in the World War II, and had fallen at Iwo Jima. Arturo Ogawa would be a worthy carrier of his name and would pass to his offspring a legacy from which they could be proud.
